DEVOTION ~ THE VISITATION

Theme: The Visitation
Text: John 12:1&2
12 Then, six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was who had been dead, whom He had raised from the dead. 2 There they made Him a supper; and Martha served, but Lazarus was one of those who sat at the table with Him.

Have you ever had the opportunity to dine with your helper or someone prominent who has contributed immensely to your success story? Guess you were overwhelmed. Lazarus had the opportunity to dine with Jesus who gave him a second chance by raising him to live after being in the grave for four days. Welcoming Jesus to both our homes and lives is key to our transformation. His visitation brings out the best in us. The three siblings Lazarus, Martha, and Mary each received their blessings for being named as associates of Jesus and for their great role in preparing Jesus for burial. Dear beloved in the Lord, Martha's hospitality is mentioned in the text. Despite having been told earlier to choose the feet of the Lord to listen to His teaching, she understood the essence of hosting her guest well. If she had failed to serve on that fateful day, she might have missed the mark of recognition. May we learn from this to continue our good works in the Lord at every opportunity.

Let us Pray: Almighty God, I welcome you into my home and life to be Lord over them. Please, transform my family to receive Your divine breakthrough in all spheres of our lives. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
