DEVOTION ~ YOU'LL NOT BE DISGRACED
Theme: You'll Not Be Disgraced
Text: Psalms 31:17-18
17 Don’t let me be disgraced, O Lord, for I call out to you for help. Let the wicked be disgraced; let them lie silent in the grave. 18 Silence their lying lips— those proud and arrogant lips that accuse the godly.
Previous devotion taught us that David was overwhelmed by the schemes of his adversaries yet he trusted God to rescue him. In the text for today's study, he prayed that he would not be disgraced. To be disgraced implies to fall out of favour, grace, or honour. Grace, favour and honour come from God and He bestows it on anyone He chooses to. That is why we must cultivate the attitude of calling the Lord for help. David's plead is for the Lord to silence the wicked and to remove the cover of grace over them. Dear beloved in the Lord, you do not need to verbally or physically attack the wicked. Rather, petition the Throne of Grace to silence them so they cannot function or operate against the godly. Note, if you live an upright life, you'll never fall out of grace, favour or honour.
Let us Pray: Almighty God, I come to You for help. Please help me and may I not be disgraced in my marriage, conception to safe delivery, nurturing of children, education, career, business, projects, and every sphere of my life. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
