DEVOTION ~ THE GOLDEN RULE
Theme: The Golden Rule
Text: Matthew 7:12
12 Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.
Today's text highlights the ancient rule about what we desire from others. It is a golden rule of existence and relationship which states, "Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you." It points to our way of life with others. It teaches us to be mindful of how we treat others. It's funny that those who hurt others do not want to be hurt by others. No mocker wants to be mocked. Likewise, no bully wants to be bullied. The cheats or unfaithful in relationships do not want their partners to cheat, but they do the worst. We are called to reposition ourselves well when we are dealing with others. Whatever we do not wish for ourselves, let us not do the same or even worse to others. Christ is the solution to us living right with others. If His love encompasses us, we shall live in harmony. Invite the transformative grace of Christ to take absolute control over your life.
Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for hurting others. Transform me with Christ's love so I can live decently with others. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
