DEVOTION ~ THE GLORIOUS LIBERTY

Theme: The Glorious Liberty
Text: Romans 8:20-22
20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; 21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.

Yesterday's devotion taught us that creation has an earnest expectation of the revealing of the sons of God. Today, we shall delve into why this is so. The Lord's creation was an incorruptible one until man compromised it with sin. The sin of Adam brought about a drastic shift from liberty and the presence of God to a hostile, corrupt creation. As we learned yesterday, it is not only human beings that await this liberation but also other living creatures. In recent times, we have seen how global warming, the destruction of vegetation and animal habitats have been issues of concern. This challenge is a catalyst for why the whole creation groans and labours with birth pangs together until now. The sure way to ease this burden is to be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God where all creation shall dwell in peace. Christ is the answer and solution that the whole creation is subject to hope in. Dear beloved, look to Jesus for the glorious liberty you desire.

Let us Pray: Almighty God, by Your Word, You have subjected the whole creation in hope for a Saviour. Lord, come and deliver us from our bondages and crown us with Your glorious liberty. This we ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
