DEVOTION ~ HOPE

Theme: Hope
Text: Romans 8:24-25
24 For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.

Yesterday's devotion taught us that Jesus is the firstfruit of the Spirit, and by His resurrection, we shall also be resurrected to a glorious liberty. The text for today speaks about our hope as we await the appearing of the Lord. This hope is a fuel of faith. Faith is defined as the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. The best analogy to this hope is pulling a surprise on people. If we should communicate what we intend to do for them, there's nothing to hope for because they already know about the surprise. However, if the surprise just happens, we totally take the people unawares. Dear beloved in Christ, no one knows when the Lord's Day shall come, but we all eagerly wait for it with perseverance.

Let us Pray: Almighty God, thank You for the salvation in Christ Jesus. I put my hope in You for a better future glory. Please, help me to imitate Christ in all that I do as I await Your glorious day. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
