DEVOTION ~ A HOUSE BUILT ON SOLID ROCK

Theme: A House Built on Solid Rock
Text: Matthew 7:24-25
24 Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. 25 Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock.



Jesus has been teaching on various topics in this chapter, and He brings it to an end. He draws a clear distinction between those who pay heed to His teaching and those who do not. In today's text, we shall look at those who adhere to His teaching. Jesus likened them to a person who builds on a solid rock. The Word of God is full of wisdom, and when we delve into it with diligence, it equips us for every good work. The wise won't waste his building materials through negligence when his house is being constructed, but will ensure that everything goes well. The solid rock mentioned is Jesus in our spiritual perspective. When the torrent of life issues overwhelms us, they won't destroy us because we have learned to surrender everything to God. Dear beloved in the Lord, adhere to what Christ teaches so that your life may escape destruction. Ensure to build every area of your life on Christ, and you shall stand firmly till the end. 


Let us Pray: Almighty God, grant me wisdom to follow You diligently and truthfully. I lay the foundation of my marriage, children, ministry, education, career, sources of finances, health, projects, and every area of my life on You. Please, sustain them. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
