DEVOTION ~ LORD! LORD!

Text: Matthew 7:21
21 Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. 



Establishing a relationship with Jesus goes beyond mere utterance. One must demonstrate in every way that there is indeed a lasting and impactful relationship with the Lord. Many have become lip-service Christians rather than being true disciples. With their lips, they praise the Lord and hallow Him, yet their hearts are very far from the discipline of the Lord. In hypocrisy, they call on the Lord but have forgotten that the Lord searches the heart and knows the intent in it. Dear beloved in the Lord, making use of the Name of the Lord while here on this earth will serve the purpose for which you're making your demands, but it won't be so on the Day of the Lord. On that day, the only true and faithful children of God will be ushered into the Kingdom. We are therefore admonished that mere use of the Name of the Lord is not enough. Build a lasting and impactful relationship with the Lord. 


Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for thinking I can play smart and have my way in all things. Lord, be merciful unto me and forgive me for trying to fit You into my schedule. I invite You to make Your home with me today and forevermore. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
