DEVOTION ~ PLEASING GOD

Theme: Pleasing God
Text: Romans 8:8
8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

Yesterday's devotion taught us that if we know Jesus, we know life. For in Him we have peace and life. The text for today speaks about pleasing God. To please God is to walk according to the Spirit rather than in the flesh. Anyone who walks by the dictates of the flesh cannot please God because his deeds are detestable and abominable unto God. Galatians 5:19-22 clearly spelt out the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; Those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Pleasing God requires that we bear fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Are you pleasing God?

Let us Pray: Almighty God, I desire to please You in all things. Please help me to be led by the Holy Spirit so that my ways will be pleasing to You. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
