CHARACTER STUDY ~ ELISHEBA

The name Elisheba has its origins in the Hebrew language and is derived from two elements, "El" meaning God, and "sheba" meaning oath. Thus, the name Elisheba holds the profound meaning of "God is my Oath."

Elisheba was the wife of Aaron the priest and a sister-in-law to Moses and Mirriam. Family must not be limited to only the married couples. The extended family must be considered.

Elisheba was the mother of Aaron's sons: Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. She played a great role in supporting her husband to raised their sons for the priesthood. Whether we are mothers or fathers, we must be involved in nurturing the children around us.

Elisheba might be a supportive wife that's why there was no ill record of her. If she had done something to hinder her husband's role as priest it would have been recorded. Aside that, if she had shown any rebellious lifestyle it would have been mentioned in the Bible. Let us learn to be responsible.
