DEVOTION ~ HONEST PRAYER

Theme: Honest Prayer 
Text: Psalms 17:1
17 Hear a just cause, O Lord, attend to my cry; Give ear to my prayer which is not from deceitful lips. 



Prayer is a means of communicating with God: we pour out our hearts to Him, and He responds. The psalmist David calls on God to hear his prayer because it is petitioned through honest lips. It implies that what he is laying before God has no deceit in it. Dear beloved in the Lord, let us also have honest hearts that petition the throne of God without lies. Let us evaluate our lives and be sure we are imitating Christ in every way. The prayer of David is a plea for justice. In our world where corruption is sweeping justice under the carpet, we must pray and ask God to answer us by helping us. May the Lord answer your honest prayers. 


Let us Pray: Almighty God, thank You for another opportunity to pray. Lord, hear my prayer for justice and send forth help in all the land. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

What inhibits you determines what comes out of you. The two elements are light and darkness. The light within produces good, whereas darkness is evil. It is recorded in  Ephesians 5:8-9 For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good, right, and true.  Declare, "In the Name of Jesus Christ, I no longer walk in darkness but rather in light. Therefore, every product of darkness within and around me is extinct. I decree that my family and I live in light, and we enjoy what the light produces in fullness. Our deeds are good, right, and true. AMEN!"
