DEVOTION ~ THANKSGIVING PSALM ~ 2021

Theme: Thanksgiving Psalm ~ 2021  Text: Psalm 44:4-8 4  You are my King, O God;  Command victories for Jacob (INSERT YOUR NAME).  5  Through You we will push down our enemies;  Through Your name we will trample those who rise up against us.  6  For I will not trust in my bow,  nor shall my sword save me.  7  But You have saved us from our enemies,  and have put to shame those who hated us.  8  In God we boast all day long,  and praise Your name forever.  Selah! AMEN & AMEN! The year ends today and it's just some few hours away. Do have time to reflect on God's power, protection and provision for you in 2021. How have your relationship with God been this year? If you've not resolve to have a better relationship with the Lord in the coming year, it's time to take your notepad and write something down. SEASON'S DECLARATION

Faithful Father, when I consider Your great and marvelous doings in my life, my heart rejoices in You. Take the glory and adoration for Your awesome wonders even now and forevermore.  Father in the name of Jesus Christ, let every form of conspiracy against any area of my life be exposed now. Just as the plot of Herod against the infant Jesus could not materialized, Father divinely deliver me from the plots of the wicked. Charge Your Angels over me and may the Holy Spirit grant me the grace of discernment in all that I do. AMEN! Matthew 2

SEASON'S DECLARATION

Glory be to our Creator for putting everything in its rightful place. O God, You know what we will need even before we ask and this is fully revealed in Your creation. Thank You for making provision for us before creating our early parents. Glory be to Your Holy Name from generations unto generations. Father in the name of Jesus Christ, the wise men saw the star of baby Jesus and follow-up to worship but were distracted because they decided to apply human knowledge by entering into the palace of Herod. As the year comes to an end, I break away from every form of distraction from the world. I reject the misleading words of the evil one and his agents. I agree with the Holy Spirit to direct my life and show me the way of truth. It is written, When they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. I declare my joy...

SEASON'S DECLARATION

Blessed be the name of God who has divinely made provisions for our lives. We are grateful O God for the gift of Jesus Christ. It is not that we deserve to have Him with us but You offered Him out of love unto us. Blessings, glory, wisdom, thanksgiving, honour, power and might belongs to You forever and ever.  It is written, "And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace". Abba! Father in the name of Jesus Christ, we receive Your grace in all areas of our lives and we declare our weaknesses, and limitations are cut off from us by the power of the Holy Spirit. We can no longer be restrain by any force of darkness for the Light of God has shone grace into our imperfections to make us perfect for His glory. AMEN! John 1:16

SEASON'S DECLARATION

What shall I render unto You O my God for Thy mercy and goodness in my life and all that is mine. We can boldly declare taste and see that the Lord is Good and His mercy endures forever.  It is written, whatever God does, i t shall be forever.  Nothing can be added to it,  and nothing taken from it.  God does it, that men should fear before Him. Father in the name of Jesus Christ, whatever You have decree concerning my life is established and receive grace to manifest speedily.  My family is secured in the Blood of Jesus, my business and finances receive increase, my health shall not fail because it is established that by his stripes I am healed. I am blessed for I am the blessed of the Lord in the name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

God unto you alone will our songs of praise rise to. Not unto us nor unto anything do we boast but in the power of Your delivering glory. You have delivered us from the snare of the wicked and saved us from the yoke of destruction. What shall we render unto You but praise, thanksgiving, adoration and worship. Holy be the name of the Lord from generations unto generations. It is written the Lord is God and He has given us light; Father in the name of Jesus Christ, in Your goodness let Your favour locate every area of our lives to uproot every plantings of unpleasantness in our lives. Let us enjoy the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. We declare by the power of the Light You have made possible for us, we are triumphing in light and as darkness cannot comprehend light so can no evil dwell with us again. The chain of sickness, stagnation, afflictions, and all the miseries of the evil one and his agents have been nullified in the name of Jesus Christ. AMEN! Psalm 118:27

SEASONS GREETINGS

It's Christmas and every home is filled with love, joy, and happiness. The Saviour brings exceeding gladness to every heart that welcomes Him. May your home also be filled with laughter this season and beyond. May the glorious birth of Christ bring divine glory to every area of your life. As you celebrate, do well to also reflect the significance of the season. Reach out to others as the Maggi did to the baby Jesus. Make time to have a great conversation with God. Do not do all the talking but be attentive unto God so He speaks to you too. Shallom! Peace be unto you! AMEN! THANK YOU CHEERISHED READER. MUCH LOVE FROM THE WORD.

DEVOTION ~ I AM NOT ALONE

Theme: I Am Not Alone  Text: John 16:31-33 31 Jesus answered them, “Do you now believe? 32 Indeed the hour is coming, yes, has now come, that you will be scattered, each to his own, and will leave Me alone. And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me. 33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” This chapter ends with the above verses on what might seem being alone or rejected. Jesus foresaw how His arrest, trials and crucifixion would scatter the disciples (each will flee for his life) but for just that moment. During that moment, it looked as though Jesus was rejected or abandoned by His companions but in the spiritual the Father was with Him. God is always with us irrespective of where we find ourselves because He is Omnipresent. There's no better companion than our God.  Dear beloved in the Lord, it may seem in your present circumstance that you are a...

DEVOTION ~ THE OMNISCIENT CHRIST

Theme: The Omniscient Christ Text: John 16:29-30 29 His disciples said to Him, “See, now You are speaking plainly, and using no figure of speech! 30 Now we are sure that You know all things, and have no need that anyone should question You. By this we believe that You came forth from God.” In yesterday's devotion the Lord told His  disciples a time comes that He would speak plainly with them not figuratively. Hallelujah! Before He was done speaking with them, the disciples' understanding was opened and they said, “See, now You are speaking plainly, and using no figure of speech!   The Word of God is settled and cannot be altered. Gaining understanding made the disciples to believe that Christ came from the Father, and knew all things so no one dare to question Him. Dear beloved in the Lord, our Omniscient Saviour is able to open the eyes of our understanding to the things of the Lord. If only we will draw nearer to Him, we will experience the supernatural in our Koinonia ...

DEVOTION ~ PLAIN LANGUAGE NOT FIGURATIVE

Theme: Plain Language Not Figurative  Text: John 16:25-28 25 “These things I have spoken to you in figurative language; but the time is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figurative language, but I will tell you plainly about the Father. 26 In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not say to you that I shall pray the Father for you; 27 for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came forth from God. 28 I came forth from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world and go to the Father.” In previous devotions we saw how Christ spoke figuratively to the disciples of He being with them a while and the call to His disciples to ask anything in His name and it shall be granted. In today's devotion, we look at understanding the language of the Lord: will it be figurative or plain to the believer. The scripture is spirit filled and the carnal mind cannot give explanation to divine wisdom unless aided by the Spiri...

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

Father, I sing of Your goodness in my life and all that is mine. Your name only deserves to be exalted for Your glory is above the earth and the heaven. I've seen and tasted of Your awesome glory. Blessed be Thy name forever and ever.  It is written, “It shall come to pass in that day that I will answer,” says the Lord; “I will answer the heavens, and they shall answer the earth. The earth shall answer with grain, with new wine, and with oil. Father in the name of Jesus Christ, answer me and let there be manifestation and establishment of miracles, signs and wonders in every sphere of my life from this day forth and forevermore. AMEN! Hosea 2:21&22

DEVOTION ~ ASK IN JESUS' NAME

Theme: Ask in Jesus' Name  Text: John 16:23&24   23 “And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. 24 Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. While Christ was with His disciples, anytime He lifts up pray, He gives thanks in the name of the Father. He has a direct relationship with the Father. This is the relationship He desires to give freely to anyone who believes in His name. He is with the Father and so He is capable of pleading our case before the Father. Until we understand we cannot ask anything and receive a positive response outside the name of Jesus Christ, our prayers are meaningless. Dear beloved in the Lord, Christ is calling on us to ask and we shall receive. Our joy can only be full in the Lord and nothing else. In prayer, let's make our request to the Father through Christ Jesus and all things shall work out in our favo...

DEVOTION ~ YOUR JOY WON'T BE TAKEN

Theme: Your Joy Won't Be Taken Text: John 16:19-22 19 Now Jesus knew that they desired to ask Him, and He said to them, “Are you inquiring among yourselves about what I said, ‘A little while, and you will not see Me; and again a little while, and you will see Me’? 20 Most assuredly, I say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; and you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy. 21 A woman, when she is in labor, has sorrow because her hour has come; but as soon as she has given birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world. 22 Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you. In yesterday's devotion we saw how our "a little while" can be of great importance in making as attain the crown of victory. In today's devotion, we will be looking at, "Your joy won't be taken". I...

DEVOTION ~ A LITTLE WHILE

Theme: A Little While  Text: John 16:16-18 16 “A little while, and you will not see Me; and again a little while, and you will see Me, because I go to the Father.” 17 Then some of His disciples said among themselves, “What is this that He says to us, ‘A little while, and you will not see Me; and again a little while, and you will see Me’; and, ‘because I go to the Father’?” 18 They said therefore, “What is this that He says, ‘A little while’? We do not know what He is saying.” Jesus speaks proverbially about His death and resurrection with the expression "A little while". Yes indeed for a while the Lord was taken away from the disciples but after three days He was raised to life by the power of God. The disciples never got the clue of what He was telling them so they raised a discussion among themselves concerning the expression.  Dear beloved in the Lord, this expression is equally important in our lives as believers for our stay on this earth no matter the age we will attai...

DEVOTION ~ TAKE OF MINE

Theme: Take of Mine Text: John 16:14&15 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. 15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you. The Holy Spirit is a part of the Triune God that has been given to us to guide us in the path of truth. His work is to keep the believer under the knowledge of God's will and purpose that God's glory will be manifested. This He does by testifying about the Messiah as the Son of God on whom all our sins have been laid.  To know the Father or to behold Him, we need the Holy Spirit to make it easier and possible.   All things have been delivered to Christ by the Father out of love, and no one knows the Son except the Father.   Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. Dear beloved in the Lord, the Holy Spirit takes what is Christ and declares it to us: Christ's parabl...

DEVOTION ~ THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH

Theme: The Spirit of Truth  Text: John 16:12&13 12 "I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come."  The Christian's watchword is truth for our Saviour has no iota of lie in Him. The Holy Spirit reveals the truth of God to us. He has been sent to us to be our guide in the things of the Lord. We are continually filled with wisdom and understanding by the power of the Holy Spirit to carry out the command of the Great Commission.  Dear beloved in the Lord, we cannot function well without the Spirit of Truth. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. The Spirit of Truth speak...

DEVOTION ~ THE HOLY SPIRIT

Theme: The Holy Spirit  Text: John 16:8-11 8 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9 of sin, because they do not believe in Me; 10 of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; 11 of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. Our Lord Jesus Christ promised His disciples in His absence, He will send the Holy Spirit. He is to do three main things; to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. These three things are the key duties of the Holy Spirit in the world. When the Holy Spirit convicts, He brings to light or expose the weaknesses and folly of the world.  He brings to light or exposes the sin of the world. The sin of not believing Christ and the message He preached. The carnal mind can never expose the wrongs of the world for these deeds are acceptable in it. However, the Light of the Holy Spirit, exposes such ills of society and the need to repent. It is only the Holy Spirit...

DEVOTION ~ TO OUR ADVANTAGE

Theme: To Our Advantage  Text: John 16:7  7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.  God's love towards us has always been pure and whatever He does for us is to our advantage. Jesus' assurance of the Holy Spirit is to give divine companionship to the disciples. Dear beloved in the Lord, when God takes one thing out of our lives, it's a sign of giving us a better one. Indeed we have the Helper with us today. He helps us in all our ways and with Him we are guaranteed our safety. Do not be discouraged in the Lord when He withdraws or withholds something from you. For He knows what's best for you.  Prayer: Abba! Father, teach me to trust You the more when life situations' knock hard at me. Let me focus on You and the perfect plans You have for me in faith by the comforting grace of the Holy Spirit. This I pray in the name of Jesus Christ...

DEVOTION ~ HEARTS FILLED WITH SORROW

Theme: Hearts Filled with Sorrow  Text: John 16:5&6 5 “But now I go away to Him who sent Me, and none of you asks Me, ‘Where are You going?’ 6 But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. Christ informs the disciples His intention to return where He came from. The human instinct naturally finds it difficult to say goodbye. Whenever we reach the moment or point of parting ways, our hearts become heavy. It is no longer where the person is going that matters but the absence becomes a priority. That feeling of missing the person or loneliness causes the heart to be sorrowful.  Likewise was it with the disciples, they could not have the courage to ask the Lord where He was going. Dear beloved in the Lord, does sorrow fill your heart when you withdraw yourself from the things of God? It is a key indicator to how strong your relationship with the Lord is. Our hearts keep us under checks of what we prioritize in our lives. Prayer: Dear God, help us to...

DEVOTION ~ KEPT BACK

Theme: Kept Back   Text: John 16:3&4  3 And these things they will do to you because they have not known the Father nor Me. 4 But these things I have told you, that when the time comes, you may remember that I told you of them. And these things I did not say to you at the beginning, because I was with you. In yesterday's devotion, we looked at how people wrongly serve God to the point of killing others. Today, we will continue to look at why Christ kept this from His disciples until now. Christ has been with His disciples there was no need for them to feel unsafe. He could command anything including the storm to be still. But His physical absence created room for His adversaries to prey on the disciples. Since the knowledge of the Father as we saw yesterday is not in such individuals, they act ignorantly; Apostle Paul as an example did valiant things against the disciples. But when he encountered Christ, he laid down his life to advance the Gospel.  Christ forewarned ...

DEVOTION ~ WRONGFUL SERVICE

Theme: Wrongful Service  Text: John 16:1&2 16 “These things I have spoken to you, that you should not be made to stumble. 2 They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service. It's much easier to travel on a route you're every conversant with irrespective of the time (whether day or night) but challenging if you do not have any idea of how the route is like. Jesus wanted to give His disciples a foreknowledge of what life without Him would be like to them. The essence is to help them not be made to stumble in His absence. The stumbling block is the persecution from the observers of Judaism. To such individuals, putting the disciples to death, flogging them, and doing all manner of evil against them is a service to God. This is because, to them the disciples were living a blasphemous life. They feel that they are fighting for God. However, the scale on their eyes prevent them from seeing the Light of t...

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

My soul will Rejoice in You O God for in You I take refuge. Of what use am I without You my King and Creator? Glory be to Thy Name. You renew Your mercies each day towards me and You have never failed on any promise You've made concerning me. I've come to bow and canonized Your Holy Name. It is written and remains written that “All the horns of the wicked I will also cut.” Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I declare the strength of the wicked be withdrawn from them. Whatever the wicked take pride in against any area of my life is destroyed right now. By the four winds of the earth, all wickedness is blown into the abyss.  It is also written, “But the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.” O God, exalt my horn: I decree in the name of Jesus Christ, I receive strength to perfect the will of God concerning every sphere of my life. By the power of the Holy Spirit, I triumph in my marriage, family, ministry, career, business, finances, education, health, and I am filled with di...

DEVOTION ~ A PORTION WITH THE GREAT

Theme: A Portion with the Great Text: Isaiah 53:12 12 Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, and He shall divide the spoil with the strong, because He poured out His soul unto death, and He was numbered with the transgressors, and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. How awesome and wonderful is the reward of the Lord to those who diligently seek Him and obey His commands. Christ though with heavy heart, at Gethsemane, He prayed if the Lord is willing, the cup should pass Him by but not His will but the Father's will be done. He endured the painful and humiliating death wholeheartedly and so God gave Him a portion among the great. Christ possesses a name above every other name in the heavens, earth and the seas. By the mention of the name Jesus, every knee bows and every tongue confesses Him as Lord. Christ pleads for the forgiveness of our sins and so when we confess them, God is faithful and just to forgive us and to wash or cleanse...

DEVOTION ~ THE LABOUR OF HIS SOUL

Theme: The Labour of His Soul Text: Isaiah 53:10&11 10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand. 11 He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, for He shall bear their iniquities. As we've been studying these few days, Christ's death is significant to us as believers. He has been offered as offering for our transgressions that we may attain everlasting life. It is solely in Jesus that we can enjoy the full benefit of the Lord for the pleasure of the Lord prospers in His hand. We are the labour of Christ's soul; He offered His soul for the redemption of our souls.  By the enabling grace of the Holy Spirit, we reflect the image of Christ on this earth. His death has not been in vain because we fulfill His command to go into the world an...

DEVOTION ~ HIS DEATH

Theme: His Death Text: Isaiah 53:9 9 And they made His grave with the wicked— But with the rich at His death, because He had done no violence, nor was any deceit in His mouth. In yesterday's devotion we saw how Christ suffered unjustly in the hands of the elders and the crowd. They shouted aloud that Pilate should release Barabbas but crucify Jesus. The desire of the crowd was granted for an innocent Man to be put to death. Anyone who is put to death on the cross is believed to have committed a crime deserving death. Christ was made to carry His cross and when they had come to the place called Calvary, there they crucified Him, and the criminals, one on the right hand and the other on the left. (Matthew 27:57-60; Luke 23:33) Though His grave with the wicked, but with the rich at His death. The young rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, buried Jesus in His own tomb. He died with sinners to call as many as believe to the marvelous Light of God and to give an assurance of a better l...

DEVOTION ~ STRICKEN FOR OUR TRANSGRESSIONS

Theme: Stricken for Our Transgressions  Text: Isaiah 53:7&8 7  He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth;  He was led as a lamb to the slaughter,  and as a sheep before its shearers is silent,  so He opened not His mouth.  8  He was taken from prison and from judgment,  and who will declare His generation?  For He was cut off from the land of the living;  For the transgressions of My people He was stricken. This prophecy of Isaiah manifested when the Lord was arrested in the Garden of Gethsemane to His death on the cross. He who has done no evil was betrayed by His own and was unlawfully arrested. In all His affliction, He open not His mouth to defend Himself or to curse His oppressors. One reason why Christ never uttered a word was to allow the will of God to prevail. (Matthew 26:63; 27:12-14; Mark 14:61; 15:5; Luke 23:9 &  John 19:8). He was tried before Pilate and Herod where f...
