Theme: Don't Give in to Temptation  Text: Luke 4:9-13 9 Then he brought Him to Jerusalem, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here. 10 For it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you,’ 11 and, ‘In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ ” 12 And Jesus answered and said to him, “It has been said, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’ ” 13 Now when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from Him until an opportune time. Before the beginning of Jesus' ministry, the devil tempted Him in order to terminate the purpose for which Christ came. Some temptation can manifest themselves as though they are good. Be mindful how you respond or give in to temptations. Jesus had knowledge of the Word and so rebutted the devil's schemes. You also need to emulate this by having time to study and meditate on the Word. Prayer: Empower me oh Spiri...

Theme: Be Guided  Text: Psalm 19:7 7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple In this evil age where all forms of wickedness and evil is seen as normal, you need to be guided so as not to go astray. One perfect guide is the law of the Lord which have been inscribed in the Holy Bible. The study of the Word helps to convert your soul to submit to God. The Word as well makes you wise. Choose today, to be guided by the word of God. Prayer: Guide me o Lord through this life and make me victorious in Jesus name. AMEN!

Theme: Just Believe  Text: Luke 1:45 45 Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord. Faith is what drives the manifestation of your expectations and prophecies concerning your life. Elizabeth filled with power by the presence of the blessed virgin Mary, gave her final word which is the text for our consideration today. Dear beloved in the Lord, what are you expecting God to do for you? It is good to keep believing and trusting God to perfect it, for your blessings will surely manifest. Blessed is he/she who believes. May the Lord's Mighty Hand shield you from every form of fears as you trust and believe in His saving grace. Prayer: Dear God, grant me a believing heart never to doubt Your promises and Your will be done in Jesus name. AMEN!

Theme: Call to Repentance Text: Joel 2:12-13 12 “Now, therefore,” says the Lord, “Turn to Me with all your heart, With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.” 13 So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He relents from doing harm. Today marks the beginning of Lent. Lent traditionally is purposed at preparing the Christian through a journey with the Lord leading to Easter by denying oneself of pleasures of the flesh. It is good to fast as it aids both the physical and spiritual well-being of an individual. The Lord is calling on you to turn to Him with a genuine heart. The fasting, weeping and mourning expresses your remorse for your sins. David demonstrated this well in the 51st Psalm. A penitent life is devoid of rebellion and pride. However it shows forth in humility and acknowledgement of one's sin without pushing blames on others. The men of old usually rend their clothe...

Theme: In Solitude With God Text: Matthew 14:23 23 And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there. The Master of all things in His walk upon the earth has led a life of solitary at the beginning and close of each day. Jesus isolates Himself from the disciples and crowd to pray. The verse for today is an example. Likewise the Gethsemane and other moments in His life (Matthew 26:36-46, Mark 1:35; 6:46,  Luke 5:16; 6:12). You must also develop such attitude of solitary living so as to have a quiet time with the Lord. David Wilcox in answering his audience on how he is able to compose his song said, he undergo three processes: a quiet room, an empty page and the question, is there something I should know?  These three processes can be applicable in your live as believer. You need to make room for quietness where you have fellowship with God and conveniently the early hours of the day (dawn). Durin...

Theme: The Inspired Word Text: 2 Peter 1:20-21 20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, 21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. All glory to Jesus, the Holy Spirit dwells in us. The Holy Spirit is a teacher and a guide in life. If you rely on Him you'll experience the supernatural. Your relationship with God becomes better when you understand His Word and purposes for your life. If you study the Bible or do your devotion without an understanding, you're more likely not to move in accordance with the Word. It is for this reason you need to invite the Holy Spirit to grant you the understanding. Philip was led by the Holy Spirit to the Ethiopian Eunuch to give him better understanding of what he was reading about Jesus Christ (Acts 8:26-40). The Apostle Peter admonished us to rely on the Holy Spirit for a clear understanding of the Word and prophecies of God. You n...

Theme: Rise Above Blind Bartimaeus.  Text: Mark 10:46-52 46 Now they came to Jericho. As He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging. 47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” 48 Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” 49 So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called. Then they called the blind man, saying to him, “Be of good cheer. Rise, He is calling you.” 50 And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus. 51 So Jesus answered and said to him, “What do you want Me to do for you?” The blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.” 52 Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road. Bartimaeus in his days encountered Jesus when He was living J...

Theme: The Spiritual Living Text: 3 John 1:2-4 2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. 3 For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth. 4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. You've been called and mandated to win souls for Christ. Your life should reflect well to your spiritual parents and likewise must your spiritual children be endowed with the power of God to walk in the knowledge of the Truth. You need to rise up and commit those under your spiritual watch into God's Hands through intercessory prayers. Just like John, you need to build lasting relationships with those you've drawn to the throne room of mercy. Walk in truth and be spiritually filled. Prayer: Let your truth abide and manifest  in me in Jesus name. AMEN!!!

Theme: The Fear of the Lord  Text: Proverbs 14:26-27 26 In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence, and His children will have a place of refuge. 27 The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to turn one away from the snares of death. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. As a child of God, you need to establish a fresh relationship with God at all time. This is only possible if you are obedient to God's prompting and callings.  Never give up in doing the Lord's Will in obedience. You'll find strength and confidence in reverence of God. He'll be a strong tower of protection over your life. God's preservative Hands will deliver you from harm. The likes of Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah were delivered from being harmed because they chose to fear God than man ( Daniel 3 and 6). Because you have the fear of the Lord at heart, He will grant you the opportunity to attain eternal life through Christ Jesus. Prayer: Stir in me the desire to fear Yo...

Theme: The Power of God  Text: Ephesians 3:20-21 20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. All power is subject to God. He is above all powers and He rules in His majesty. There's nothing too big or huge for God to do. The impossible He has said is possible with Him (Luke 1:37; Matthew 19:26). If you can channel all your worries into adoration and honour of God, then you're sure to break every barrier. For He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us. Oh mine! Christ didn't leave you powerless. He said, the Spirit shall come upon you and you'll receive power to do exploit (Acts 1:8). The Holy Spirit is at work in you. Don't loose focus, just keep moving in the power of God through worship and adoration to the King of kings, t...

Theme: Test All Spirits Text: 1 John 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. On our dispensation where the ears of people are itchy to hear prophesies, many false prophets have risen to satisfy the desires of these souls. Dear beloved, are you being led by the Holy Spirit or by some evil spirit? Is Christ acknowledged in the place where you worship and call the name of the Lord? Avoid gatherings that are prophet glorifying than glorifying Jesus. If the message is all about the leader and not Jesus, be wise and flee for the salvation of your soul.  If you've not built a divine lasting relationship with God yet, then rise up and seek the truth in Jesus Christ. In humility always request more of God and less of you in doing the works of the Lord. Test every spirit and be sure it's really of God. Any spirit not of God does not follow in the will and direction of Jesus Christ. ...

Theme: Do You Know Jesus? Text: 1 John 2:3-6 3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. 6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked. It's funny somehow when people are quick to respond they are Christians when asked about their religion or faith. The question is, are you really a Christian and do you know Jesus? An answer to this question is well spelt out in the text for consideration for today. Keeping the Lord's commandment is one of the sure ways to establish relationship with Him. In John 14:15, Jesus said, "If you love me, keep my commandments." You're only deceiving yourself if you continually engage in sinful practices and claim to love the Lord. The truth is not in you. The truth is made ...

Theme: The Joy of Winning Souls Text: 1 John 1:3-4 3 that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. 4 And these things we write to you that your joy may be full. You are called forth to be a fisher of men. Winning souls for the Kingdom is your core mandate as a believer. As the Holy Spirit drives you into doing this, you will also need to attach some passion to it. The Apostle John, fines joy and pleasure to tell others about Jesus Christ. What have you heard, seen, witnessed or experienced in your journey as a Christian? That should be the stepping stone to evangelize Christ to a soul. Declare the goodness of the Lord in your life so as to draw others near to Him. Don't be selfish in the fellowship, stretch a helping hand to the soul in darkness and bring them to the marvelous Light of Jesus Christ. Prayer: Let Your saving Hands keep me on a leveled ground to...

Theme: Watch and Pray Text: Matthew 26:41 41 Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. The days are evil and as a believer, you need to be careful what you engage in. Before you take a step ask if what you're about doing will pleased the Lord or not. Evil actions are exposed by the light of God. So dear beloved, speak light into everything you do. You can only strengthen your spirit if you're being led by the Holy Spirit. Your willing spirit will quicken your weakened flesh to life to do the Father's will. Let prayer keep you spiritually hydrated so you can overcome evil. Prayer: Empower me Holy Spirit divine to live a spirit filled life at all times in Jesus name. AMEN!

Theme: Faith Does the Unthinkable Text: Hebrews 11:8 8 By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen. You can't have faith and be expecting a prove. You just step out in obedience. Abraham didn't challenge God when asked to move out of his father's house. In obedience he moved and as his relationship with God became more closer he possessed his possessions. What are you hoping the Lord will do for you? Don't be moved by what you hear or see. Rather let the Word of God - Yes and AMEN! - drive you to trust the Lord, for He is more than able to do what He has promised. In sickness, know that He is the healer; in debt, know that He has settled your debts; in misery, know that He performs miracles; in your singleness, know that He has created them male and female and none will lack her mate; ...

Theme: Who You are in Christ Jesus  Text: 1 Peter 2:9-10 9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. Thanks be to God through Jesus we have access to be called children of God. We who do not qualify to obtain mercy have obtained mercy divinely. Do you really know who you are in Christ Jesus? If you know who you are, you'll only rely on God for all things to fall in pleasant places for you. Here are some key identifications from today's text: i. A Chosen generation: The Lord chose you in particular for a purpose. Jesus specifically emphasized on it that you did not choose Him in John 15:16. If you have been chosen by someone to help in a task, you need to be obedient and submissive to the individual. This is what you ...

Theme: Are You His Lamb?  Text: John 10:25-30 25 Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in My Father’s name, they bear witness of Me. 26 But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you. 27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. 28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. 30 I and My Father are one.” Lamb generally are calm in nature and follow the dictate of their shepherd. You're a lamb of Christ if you do His will. His sheep hears his voice and follow Him in obedience. Are you really walking in His precepts or you're walking in your own precepts? If you find it difficult to do what Christ has instructed you to do willingly, then you're not His sheep. To anyone who believes in Him, to such will eternal l...

Theme: Grace to Possess and Glorify  Text: Deuteronomy 30:15-16 15 “See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil, 16 in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and the Lord your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess. Whatever position you occupy or will occupy in the future, do well to use your position to glorify God. Walk in the Lord's ways in all circumstances and you will experience divine mercies, deliverance and progress all round. What are you doing with your current position in life; marriage, job, church, community, nation and the world? Does it conform to the precepts of the Living God? If it doesn't, then get back on track. Grace is still speaking don't opt out. Prayer: Dear God, I surrender to You and I ask that You strengthen me to walk uprightly in this evil age in Jesus name. AMEN!

Theme: The Will of God Text: Psalm 143:10 Teach me to do Your will [so that I may please You], For You are my God; Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground. The will of God is what you should desire in your life. You can only know God's will if you draw close to Him and establish a relationship with Him. The psalmist's request is to know the will of God and so God should teach him His (God's) will. An example for us in our dispensation is Jesus Christ. At the Garden of Gethsemane when the Lord prayed to the Father if it is possible, let the cup should pass Him by but not His will but the Father's will. The cup is the pain, affliction, rejection, sorrows, death on the cross, and the list is endless. What cup is before you in life? Bring it before God and ask His will be done. Let God be GOD in every sphere of your life and He will level every mountain in your life. His Word is Yes and AMEN! If you are led by the Spirit of God, then His promises in Isaiah 45:2 will ma...

Theme: Intercede to Save a Soul  Text: 1 Timothy 2:1-4  Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. Taking up leadership roles isn't easy. The challenge to lead well, sometimes cripples many not to take up leadership position. This should not be the case if we intercede on their behalf just as we pray for ourselves. The Apostle Paul admonished we pray for our leaders in the House of God, politics, organization, family, etc. This prayer redirect them to do what is right as the Father answers our prayers for them. All authorities need to acknowledge God, for He has placed them where they are (Daniel 4:31-32). An assignment for you is to pray for all ...

Theme: The Gateway to Heaven Text: Genesis 28:16-17 16 Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and he said, “Without any doubt the Lord is in this place, and I did not realize it.” 17 So he was afraid and said, “How fearful and awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gateway to heaven.” Heaven is the throne of the Lord and the earth is his footstool (Isaiah 66:1; Matthew 5:35; Acts 7:49). One can only get there through a gateway. There's no way to heaven except through Jesus Christ. In the days of Jacob, he encountered the Lord at Bethel. He acknowledged that is the gateway to heaven. However in our dispensation, Jesus Christ is the sole gateway to the Father (John 14:6). Dear beloved in the Lord, heaven is close to you than it was to Jacob. You can't afford to miss it. Surrender to God and He will show Himself to you. Be bold to declare just as Jacob said, "How fearful and awesome is this place (yourself)! This is none other than the hous...

Theme: Be Vigilant in Prayer Text: Colossians 4:2 2 Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving. Prayer should be the believer's weapon at all times. In prayer, you communicate with God. However, you need to be mindful of your communication with the Father. Your prayers should not become one way; constant demand from the Father. It should be blend with adoration and thanksgiving. It doesn't mean don't ask from the Father, but rather, balance it with His adoration and thanksgiving. By praise and shout of joy, the walls of Jericho came down flat (Joshua 6). Likewise in praise, Paul and Silas were set free from their bondage (Acts 17:25-26). Peter also experienced the same liberation as the believers intercede on his behalf (Acts 12:1-19). Be vigilant in prayer. Let your prayer life be balanced. The demand should not outweigh the thanksgiving. The perfect balanced prayer is the Lord's prayer (Matthew 6:9-13). Let it be a guide for your balanced pra...

Theme: The Gospel in Deeds  Text: Matthew 5:8-9 8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Dear beloved in the Lord, how do you carry yourself in your daily activities with others? Do you have a challenge with how you perceive others? Does your mind communicate evil to your heart in this journey of life? To serve God well, you need to analyze the above questions and run a test on yourself in your relationship with God. To have a pure heart, it must be backed by faith. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). Purity of heart is a faithful walk with God knowing well your trust in Him won't be disappointed. In ugly circumstances, you don't see the mess but rather the saving grace of God. Enoch's walk with the Lord for three hundred years was by faith in God and God took him at the appointed time (Genesis 5:21-24). Peace is an attribute of Go...

Theme: How Desperate are You for God?  Text: Psalm 63:1-2 O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You. In a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. 2 So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory. As you grow in your spiritual journey, there comes a time when all you will desire for is the presence of God. In joy, sorrows, fears and just name the circumstance, you will only condition yourself to draw near to God. At that moment, know it that, you've become desperate for God. Others may term it obsession towards God (your thought and will is obsessed by the truth of God). This can only manifest in your life if you take time to reflect on your relationship with God. You need to develop a devotional habit so as to always stay connected to God. The psalmist says early he will seek the Lord. How early do you seek God? Do you try to fix God in your schedules or fix your schedules in God's plan for y...
