PSALM 121

121  I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help?  2  My help comes from the  Lord , w ho made heaven and earth.  3  He will not allow your foot to be moved;  He who keeps you will not slumber.  4  Behold, He who keeps Israel s hall neither slumber not sleep.  5  The  Lord  is your keeper;  The  Lord  is your shade at your right hand.  6  The sun shall not strike you by day, n or the moon by night.  7  The  Lord  shall preserve you from all evil;  He shall preserve your soul.  8  The  Lord  shall preserve your going out and your coming in f rom this time forth, and even forevermore. AMEN! Psalm 121

CHARLES H. SPURGEON ~ HOPE

1 Peter 1:13 ~ Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. Hope itself is like a star- not to be seen in the sunshine of prosperity, and only to be discovered in the night of adversity. #Charles H. Spurgeon

DEVOTION ~ BLESS THE LORD!

Theme: Bless the Lord! Text: Psalm 103:22 22  Bless the  Lord , all His works, i n all places of His dominion.  Bless the  Lord , O my soul! In today's text, all creation is called to worship the Creator. Everyone irrespective of religion, race, or status is called to bless the name of the Lord. Dear beloved in the Lord, let your soul bless the name of the Lord.  PRAYER: Thank You Abba! Father, for creating me in Your image. I bless Your Name and I adore You for who You are. Blessed be Thy Name even now and forevermore. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ GOD'S MINISTERS

Theme: God's Ministers  Text: Psalm 103:21 21  Bless the  Lord , all you His hosts, y ou ministers of His, who do His pleasure. How amazing it is to be a part of the royal priesthood in Christ Jesus. Our duty just like the angels is to worship the Lord continually. We are ministers in God's presence. We do not gratify ourselves but take delight in doing what He wills us to do. In Psalm fifty, the psalmist writes, " Whoever offers praise glorifies Me; And to him who orders his conduct aright I will show the salvation of God". Our praise brings the glory of God in us out and leads us to the Throne Room of Mercy. Minister of God, bless the Name of the Lord! (Psalm 50:23) PRAYER: Thank You, Lord, for the grace to be called Your minister. Come Holy Spirit, order my steps that I may take delight in doing the Lord's will in the name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ HEED THE LORD'S VOICE

Theme: Heed the Lord's Voice Text: Psalm 103:20 20  Bless the  Lord , you His angels, w ho excel in strength, who do His word, h eeding the voice of His word. The angels of the Lord excel in strength through worship. Not by any means of working out but in worshipping the Sovereign God. As they hear the voice of the Lord, they honour it by doing exactly as they are told. We often pray the Lord's prayer asking the Lord's will be done as it is in heaven. This can be effective if we learn to bless and exalt the name of our God by heeding His voice. PRAYER: Thank You, Lord, for Your ever presence in my life. Teach me by the leading of the Holy Spirit, to heed Your voice at any given time in my life. This I ask in the name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ GOD'S THRONE

Theme: God's Throne  Text: Psalm 103:19 19  The  Lord  has established His throne in heaven, a nd His kingdom rules over all. The throne of the Most High God is established, in the heavens. High above, He looks at His creation and how they carry out their duties. His divine Kingdom rules over every creature in the heaven, in the air, on the earth, and in the water bodies. Who is like the Lord? There's none like Him and none can be compared to Him. His rule has no end for He is the Alpha and Omega (the beginning and the end). PRAYER: King of kings, Lord of lords, Sovereign God to You do we lay our crowns and bow in honour of Your Majestic Name. Hallelujah! AMEN!

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

Come, let us tell of the Lord’s greatness; let us exalt his name together for He has not kept back His promises to us. Honour the name of the Lord and let us proclaim His glorious wonder in the land of the living. Most gracious God, we lay our crowns and worship You.  It is written, “O Naphtali, satisfied with favour a nd full of the blessing of the  Lord , p ossess the west and the south.” In the Name that is above every name, the Name of Jesus Christ, I decree I possess the portion of the blessing of Naphtali. I am satisfied with favour in this week, month, year, and beyond in every sphere of my life. I declare, the full blessings of the Lord to possess my possessions and to enlarge to the west, east, north and the south in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN! Psalm 34:3 & Deuteronomy 33:23

DEVOTION ~ GOD'S COVENANT

Theme: God's Covenant  Text: Psalm 103:17&18 17  But the mercy of the  Lord  is from everlasting to everlasting o n those who fear Him, a nd His righteousness to children’s children,  18  To such as keep His covenant, a nd to those who remember His commandments to do them. The awesome beauty in serving God is, that though a person may die yet his blessings can easily be transferred to his/her generations after him/her. For God's mercy is from generation to generation of those who fear Him (obey His command). To keep the Lord's covenant is to cling to the saving cross of Jesus Christ. Trusting Him faithfully and living by His command to love unconditionally.  Jesus is the covenant of God we all have to keep. We keep Him if we live by the precepts He has laid before us. It is only in His covenant we can obtain unrestrained favour and blessings.  PRAYER: Thank You, Lord God Almighty, for the covenant You keep with us in Christ Jesus. May the...

DEVOTION ~ AS A FLOWER

Theme: As a Flower  Text: Psalm 103:15&16 15  As for man, his days are like grass;  As a flower of the field, so he flourishes.  16  For the wind passes over it, and it is gone, a nd its place remembers it no more. Death often is seen as cruel, for it takes life but in the Christian faith, it is the beginning of a glorious life. Every human being according to the psalmist is like the flower of the field. A beautiful flower withers as it is exposed to sun and wind. The absence of its beauty makes it lose the attention it had. Likewise, our memories soon fade with us when we die. Let us leave a good footprint behind in every sphere of our lives.  PRAYER: Praise is to Your Name Most Everlasting Father for Your grace and mercies in my life. Help me to number my days and apply wisdom in all that I do. In the name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ OUR FRAME

Theme: Our Frame Text: Psalm 103:13&14 13  As a father pities his children, s o the  Lord  pities those who fear Him.  14  For He knows our frame;  He remembers that we are dust. The origin of man can be traced down to the time of creation in Genesis chapters one and two when the Lord God said let us create man in our image. From the dust of the earth, God made them male and female and breathed into them to become living beings. So God knows our frame very well than we do ourselves. Knowing how frail we are, He takes pity on us when we return to Him in humility.  God is much interested in the well-being of anyone who obeys Him and does His will. He is ever ready to do great and mighty things in the soul that submits to His authority. Before the prophets, the patraich, and apostles were called to serve, they were ready to submit and God performed His mighty works in them. God knows your capabilities as well as your weak...

DEVOTION ~ GOD'S VAST MERCY & FORGIVENESS

Theme: God's Vast Mercy and Forgiveness Text: Psalm 103:11&12 11  For as the heavens are high above the earth, s o great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;  12  As far as the east is from the west, s o far has He removed our transgressions from us.  In yesterday's devotion, we saw how God pardons our sins and does not punish us according to the sins we have committed. Today's text gives insight into how vast God's mercy and forgiveness are towards us. The psalmist says  as the heavens are high above the earth, s o great is His mercy toward those who fear Him. It implies the mercy of the Lord is with the peninent. To fear the Lord is to be obedient to His Word. A godly fear leads to divine mercy.  God does not just have mercy on us but also forgives our sins, not some but all kinds of sins if we confess them to Him. I wonder how we can measure from the east to the west looking at how the psalmist puts it; as  far as the east...

DEVOTION ~ THE LORD PARDONS

Theme: The Lord Pardons Text: Psalm 103:9&10 9  He will not always strive with us, n or will He keep His anger forever.  10  He has not dealt with us according to our sins, n or punished us according to our iniquities. In yesterday's devotion, we saw why many celebrate picnics basing it on the abounding mercies of God. Today's devotion will focus on the Lord's pardon of sin. When we go contrary to God's will, He does not give up on us. Rather He pardons us when we confess our sins. If God should punish according to the level of sin committed, none can withstand the punishment. God does not strive with us not keep His anger forever; He is ever ready to welcome a penitent soul to His Kingdom. God is calling you today to enjoy His steadfast love. PRAYER: Thank You Lord for pardoning my sins. Help me to embrace this grace with a penitent heart and a genuine spirit to do Your will all the days of my life in the name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ ABOUNDING IN MERCY

Theme: Abounding in Mercy Text: Psalm 103:6-8 6  The  Lord  executes righteousness a nd justice for all who are oppressed.  7  He made known His ways to Moses,  His acts to the children of Israel. 8  The  Lord  is merciful and gracious, s low to anger, and abounding in mercy. Today is Easter Monday usually known amongst Christians to be a picnic. What's the cause of the celebration and joy among both Christians and non-Christians? The joy is all about the abounding mercies of God. Just like the psalmist, we need to continually declare that the  Lord   is  merciful and gracious to all who come to Him in penitence. The Lord executes righteousness in His children. It is for that matter we attain divine righteousness not of works lest any should boast but of Christ who laid His life for all of us to be saved.  The Lord also executes justice for all who are oppressed. In His justice, He made known  His ways to Moses,...

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

I have come to honour You, my God and King for the great things You are doing in my life. It is written, " But be glad and rejoice forever in what I create;  For behold, I create Jerusalem as a rejoicing, a nd her people a joy". Indeed, I have every right to rejoice, for You have filled my mouth with joy. Praise be Your Name. It is written and forever remains written, " No more shall an infant from there (my family, church, neighbourhood, friends, etc) live but a few days, nor an old man who has not fulfilled his days; For the child shall die one hundred years old". I decree in the Name of Jesus Christ through the covenant of His Blood that, I and my household are safe from untimely death; we shall not die young but live to fulfil our days to the glory of God.  By divine connection in Christ Jesus, I decree as it is written in Scripture that, We shall build houses and inhabit them; We shall plant vineyards and eat our fruit. We shall not build and anot...

DEVOTION ~ SATISFIED MOUTH

Theme: Satisfied Mouth Text: Psalm 103:5 5  Who satisfies your mouth with good things, s o that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. God does not allow His own to lack any good thing. He does it so perfectly that, the receiver is content with what has been given to him or her. God satisfies our mouth (the request we put before Him in prayer) with great and amazing things in our lives, families, workplaces, relationships, and every area of our lives. Every day in God's presence is filled with lots of benefits. Prayer: Honour and glory be to Your Name Lord God Almighty for satisfying me with good things. Help me to see the beauty in every benefit I enjoy from You and may I continually be renewed in strength in the name of Jesus Christ. ANEN!

DEVOTION ~ REDEEMED & CROWN

Theme: Redeemed & Crown  Text: Psalm 103:4 4  Who redeems your life from destruction, w ho crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies In today's devotion, we will look at three other benefits we enjoy from the Lord. These benefits are redemption,  lovingkindness and tender mercies. From the time of the fall of man, God has a plan of redeeming the fallen man. The psalmist puts it, the Lord redeems his life from destruction. Sin destructs us from the rightful path to walk but we can only be realigned to the right way if we return to the Lord in penitence. The evil one came except to steal, kill and destroy but Christ has come that we may have life in its fullness. That's the awesome work of God to redeem us from destruction. It is written, for God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. There's always a relationship between God's redemption, His lovingkindness and mercies....

DEVOTION ~ GOD FORGIVES & HEALS

Theme: God Forgives & Heals  Text: Psalm 103:3 3  Who forgives all your iniquities, w ho heals all your diseases In yesterday's devotion, we saw how grateful the psalmist is to the Lord and so lifted his voice and require that his soul and all that is within him praise the name of the Lord for all the benefits he enjoys from Him. Today, we will examine two of these benefits; forgiveness and healing. From this psalm, we can say there is an established relationship between sin and diseases. Some diseases could come as a result of sin and not necessarily on health grounds. The benefit we derive from serving God is, that He forgives our sins and heals our diseases. God is generous to us and forgives our sins when we open up to Him about the sin. His mercy towards us is renewed each morning. When Christ came to the earth, he forgave sins to set people free from their infirmities. Amazingly His ministry on earth was evident with forgiveness and healing. To some Jesus said y...

DEVOTION ~ BLESS THE LORD!

Theme: Bless the Lord! Text: Psalm 103:1&2 103  Bless the  Lord , O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name!  2  Bless the  Lord , O my soul,  and forget not all His benefits: The psalmist is enthused about the awe nature of God and how He carries out His masterpiece. To express it, he said, bless the Lord o my soul and all that is within me. Just like the psalmist, we ought to bless the name of the Lord with everything within us; with our lips, let's make known the power of God; our eyes should be used to glorify God by being mindful of what we watch; our ears must be attentive to the voice of God; with our hands, let us praise His name with clap offerings; let's hasten our feet to the house of God and in advancing the Kingdom of God. If we possess the attitude of thanksgiving or a grateful heart, we can easily bless the Lord by not forgetting the benefits we have enjoyed from Him. Our subsequent devotions will enlighten ...

DEVOTION ~ THE LORD WILL MULTIPLY & GLORIFY US

Theme: The Lord Will Multiply & Glorify Us Text: Jeremiah 30:19 And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.  Our lips must constantly testify of the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Indeed God has assured us that out of our lips shall proceed thanksgiving and our voice will make merry. If you're counted among the children of the Most High God, then you rest assured of this blessing. Do not grieve but rejoice for the scripture says, rejoice always!  As we rejoice and honour the name of the Lord, He performs great and mighty things in our lives. He multiplies us; conceptions and safe deliveries, financial breakthroughs, career advancement, academic excellence, progress in all that we do. In making us prosperous, His glory is revealed in us and He glorifies us.  Prayer: Thank You Lord for putting laughter ...

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

We will give thanks to you, Lord, with all our heart; we will tell of all His wonderful deeds. Glory be to Your Name Most High God for Your unfailing love. We have seen and tasted Your goodness so we have come to worship at Your throne. Hallelujah! In this passion week, o God, we call to You to rain the blessings of the covenant Blood over our lives. By this rain, we decree the manifestation of Your written Word in our lives unfailing that, “May the Lord cause us to flourish, both us and our children.” This we pray in the name of Jesus Christ. AMEN! Psalm 115:14

DEVOTION ~ A FORTIFIED CITY

Theme: A Fortified City Text: Jeremiah 1:18&19 18  For behold, I have made you this day a  fortified city and an iron pillar,  and bronze walls against the whole land - Against the kings of Judah,  against its princes,  against its priests,  and against the people of the land.  19  They will fight against you,  but they shall not prevail against you.  For I  am  with you,” says the  Lord , “to deliver you.” When we trust in the Lord to deliver us, He fortifies us making us hundred per cent secure. The Lord knows the opposition the prophet Jeremiah will encounter it is for that reason He assured him of making him a fortified city, an iron pillar, and bronze walls against the whole land. All these elements are not easily broken into. That's to say the prophet, Jeremiah cannot be easily manipulated or defeated.  Likewise, will the Lord make anyone who relies on Him faithfully. The enemy cannot defeat you in anything ...

DEVOTION ~ PREPARE YOURSELF AND ARISE

Theme: Prepare Yourself and Arise Text: Jeremiah 1:17 17  “Therefore prepare yourself and arise, And speak to them all that I command you.  Do not be dismayed before their faces,  lest I dismay you before them. Every successful task comes with planning. With God, His tasks must be well prepared for before it is carried out. The Lord instructs the prophet Jeremiah to prepare himself and arise to convey His message to the people. Dear beloved in the Lord, whether you're to carry out a task in the house of God, family, workplace, community or the nation, you need to prepare ahead of time. Willingness to accept the task requires you to arise. Arise courageously not in fear or dismay when you have to carry out the task. Fear can cripple your zeal so do not entertain it in your life. Just like fear, shyness can also bring your task to imperfections. Any task you failed to perform well has not been done to God's glory so God will be displeased with you. Prayer: Thank You, L...

DEVOTION ~ THE LORD'S JUDGEMENT

Theme: The Lord's Judgement  Text: Jeremiah 1:16 16  I will utter My judgments  against them concerning all their wickedness,   because they have forsaken Me,  burned incense to other gods,  worshipped the works of their own hands. In yesterday's devotion, we saw how the Lord can send or allow the enemy to attack us if we fail to adhere to His Word. Today's text opens our understanding of why the Lord's judgment comes upon us. The judgement of the Lord is just and very fair devoid of discrimination. His judgement is basically about our deeds, especially the awful ones. Judah is judged by the Lord for wickedness and idolatry.  God is displeased with the wicked and does not condone evil. If we fail to love our neighbours and show compassion towards others, we are inviting the wrath of the Lord. The world is filled with evil and wickedness but that should not be mentioned among us as children of the Most High God. Likewise must idolatr...

DEVOTION ~ THE GATE OF JERUSALEM

Theme: The Gates of Jerusalem  Text: Jeremiah 1:14&15 14 Then the Lord said to me: “Out of the north calamity shall break forth on all the inhabitants of the land. 15 For behold, I am calling all the families of the kingdoms of the north,” says the Lord; “They shall come and each one set his throne at the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem, against all its walls all around, and against all the cities of Judah. As we established yesterday, God reveals to redeem. His revelation can either be directly or figuratively and it will take the grace and power of the Holy Spirit to understand what the Lord reveals. The boiling pot facing the north in yesterday's devotion is explain to represent the northern kingdoms that will bring calamities at the gate of Jerusalem. When we fail to adhere to the dictates of the Lord, He can punish us using our enemies. The gate of Jerusalem can be express as our jobs, marriages, finances, health, academics, relationships amongst others. It is the Lord ...

DEVOTION ~ A BOILING POT

Theme: A Boiling Pot Text: Jeremiah 1:13&14 13 And the word of the Lord came to me the second time, saying, “What do you see?” And I said, “I see a boiling pot, and it is facing away from the north.” 14 Then the Lord said to me: “Out of the north calamity shall break forth on all the inhabitants of the land. God does not just reveal good tidings but also warns us ahead of time of disastrous moments if we continue to sin. The prophet Jeremiah received the Word of God the second time asking, "What do you see?" What he saw was a boiling pot facing away from the north. A boiling pot is symbolic to disaster or destruction. Dear beloved in the Lord, God can also reveal a destruction to you in dreams, vision and trance. It will not always be revealed exactly as it will happen but figuratively so you need the Holy Spirit to aid you to understand what has been revealed. Seeing is not enough, understanding is required to pray and divinely escape the destruction. Prayer: My God who ...

DEVOTION ~ YOU HAVE SEEN WELL

Theme: You Have Seen Well  Text: Jeremiah 1:11b-12 And I said, “I see a branch of an almond tree.” 12 Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am ready to perform My word.” When we begin to reason by the Word of God, then we will see well. We can face the realities of life through effective and fervent study of the Word of God. Whatever God has written down or spoken, He is watching to perform it accordingly. His Word does not return to Him void and so we need to confess the Word daily. If our perspectives of live issues is influenced by the Word of God, it changes situations and brings about divine transformation within our communities, families, and nations.  Prayer: Most Everlasting Father to You be thanks for keeping faithful to Your Word by watching to perform it. Open my spiritual eyes to see well and to take bold steps of faith in all that I do in the name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

O God You have never failed us in any way. You have shown us much love than we deserve. We worship You and adore You for Your faithfulness. We will continually declare Your great and mighty works at all times to Your glory. Who is like unto You O Lord? You're glorious, fearfully, and full of sings and wonders.  It is written, "Restore our fortunes, Lord like streams in the Negev. Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them". Father in the name of Jesus Christ, may our toils never be in vain and may we eat of the fruit of our labour. May our gates be filled with joy unspeakable, good news and abundance of testimonies in the name of Jesus Christ. AMEN! Psalm 126:4-6

DEVOTION ~ WHAT DO YOU SEE?

Theme: What Do You See?  Text: Jeremiah 1:11a 11 Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Jeremiah, what do you see?” When God's Word come to us, we need to be sincere in responding to it. The Word of God is truth and this was what began to manifest in the life of the prophet Jeremiah. The first test was when God asked him, "What do you see?" Dear beloved in the Lord, what do you see in the spiritual and physical about your life? You can only see well if you are guided by the Holy Spirit. Avail yourself to the leading of the Holy Spirit and you will hear and see great things from the Lord. Prayer: Thank You heavenly Father for granting me the grace to speak with You and for revealing mighty things to me. I entrust my ears and eyes to Your care, touch them with the fire of the Holy Spirit that I shall from this day forth hear and see the beauty of Your Word in the name of Jesus Christ have I asked. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~HIS WORD IN YOUR MOUTH

Theme: His Word in Your Mouth  Text: Jeremiah 1:9&10 9 Then the Lord put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me: “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth. 10 See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out and to pull down, to destroy and to throw down, to build and to plant.” The Lord touched the mouth of Jeremiah to strengthen him for the task ahead. The power of the tongue cannot be underestimated. It is for that reason, we are admonished, life and death lies in the power of the tongue. God's Word automatically found its place in Jeremiah's tongue after the touch of God's Hand. The Word of God is powerful and mightier than any two edged sword. By the Word of God you can do mighty and great things to God's glory. The Word is to equip the believer just as Jeremiah to root out and to pull down; to dispossessed whatever is not working right in your life and to truncate the works of demons in any area of your li...
