DEVOTION ~ LIPS OF UNDERSTANDING

Theme: Lips of Understanding Text: Proverbs 10:13 13 Wisdom is found on the lips of him who has understanding, but a rod is for the back of him who is devoid of understanding.  The proverb for today focuses on what the lips of a person with understanding have to offer as against he who lacks understanding. Our life experiences often guide are wisdom and the decisions we take not necessarily academia. We acquire wisdom from failures and we build up strength in what to do and say to avoid accumulating failures or repeating them. Learning from yesterday builds us for today and tomorrow and defines who we have become.  What we speak often reveals what we are as from the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks (Matthew 12:34). If you have no understanding, it will be difficult to make a lasting impact. Your counsel will lack credibility and cannot help situations. Dear beloved in the Lord acquire wisdom so that you can gain understanding and your lips will be filled with insight. ...

DEVOTION ~ LOVE COVERS

Theme: Love Covers  Text: Proverbs 10:12 12 Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all sins. Violence, breakups, broken homes, and confused society have degenerated as a result of people being unable to bear the flaws of one another. When the seed of discord is sown, the result is hatred and bitterness. It blinds the eyes to see anything good in an action taken by others. Instead, it stirs suspicion and brings about irrational conclusions on issues without hearing from the other side. Hatred stirs up quarrels breaking the bond of unity. However, if love is given a chance, it covers all sins. It does not in any way suggest that love encourages evil but rather states that love is not fault-finding.  Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way . It is not irritable , and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, nev...

DEVOTION ~ A WELL OF LIFE

Theme: A Well of Life Text: Proverbs 10:11 11 The mouth of the righteous is a well of life, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked  Our mouth holds a strong power over life and death. Out of the mouth proceeds good and evil. The mouth can build or pull down. There is always a clear distinction between the mouth of the righteous and that of the wicked. The mouth of the righteous is a well of life as the words of the righteous bring life. Jesus is the fountain of life and in Him lies all righteousness, therefore the righteous manifest His nature in deeds and words to bring life, calmness, and peace at all times. However, the wicked ends at nothing than to steal, kill, and destroy the peace and existence of mankind. The wicked afflict people with pain by their words and deeds. Dear beloved in the Lord, let your mouth be a well of life to rejuvenate the desolate fields of your life.  Let us Pray: Almighty God, I open up to You to fill my well with Your life-giving fountain. ...

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

Safety is everyone's goal and desire. Usually, people turn to look at the wrong places for safety. The idols people have carved to worship as their god become a burden to them when disaster strikes because they need to secure themselves and those idols. However, with Sovereign God, this is not so, as He rather ensures the safety of His children. It is recorded in  Deuteronomy 33:29 Happy are you, O Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord, the shield of your help and the sword of your majesty! Your enemies shall submit to you, and you shall tread down their high places. Declare, "In the Name of Jesus Christ my household and I are blessed by the Lord for we are saved by Him. God is  our protecting shield  and our triumphant sword! Therefore our enemies shall submit to us and we shall tread down their high places. I decree this week and beyond shall bring glad tidings our way and we shall continually sing the Lord's praise for the daily victories in all spheres o...

CHARACTER STUDY ~ PROPHET HOSEA

The name Hosea means 'salvation', 'he saves', or 'he helps'. He was a prophet of the Living God and he was instructed by God to take a harlot for a wife which he obeyed. Hosea was the son of Beeri. He received the message of God in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel. Some Characteristics of Hosea: ✔ Hosea married Gomer the daughter of Diblaim who was a prostitute as God instructed him to do. The scenario of this marriage is to illustrate how the children of God have gone after other gods. Never question God when He commands you to do something even if it seems unwise. There is a purpose for that.  ✔ Hosea had three children and God used their names to communicate His intent toward the Israelites. Their names were Jezreel, Lo-Ruhamah, and Lo-Ammi which means vengeance, not pitied, and not my people respectively. Names have significance in our lives, we ought to be ...

DEVOTION ~ A WINK AT WRONG

Theme: A Wink at Wrong Text: Proverbs 10:10 10 He who winks with the eye causes trouble, but a prating fool will fall.  A problem can easily be resolved if it is tackled in the Lord devoid of any form of biases, folly, or ridicule. If sensitive issues are overlooked, it generates tension which causes more trouble. Taking a clue from the house of David, Absalom's revenge over Amnon could have been prevented if David had sanctioned Amnon for defiling Tamar. Dear beloved in the Lord, do you try sometimes to be mischievous in your judgment on issues? Beware, if you do not seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit to do away with such attitude in your marriage, children's relationships, at your workplace, or community, it will ruin you in no time and you will fall to nothing. Therefore, be bold to reproof for it promotes peace.  Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for the countless times I have caused trouble and confusion in my family, church, community, and workplace because I chos...

DEVOTION ~ INTEGRITY SECURES

Theme: Integrity Secures Text: Proverbs 10:9 9 He who walks with integrity walks securely, but he who perverts his ways will become known Integrity is the quality of being h onest and having strong moral principles. To walk with integrity is to live an honest and morally principled lifestyle. This is devoid of living a double life as there are no hidden skeletons in the closet. If you walk with integrity you will not be afraid. However, the wicked flee while no one is chasing them but the godly are as bold as lions. Taking the path of deceit, evil, and wickedness only puts one in an uncomfortable state. Dear beloved in the Lord,  there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known. Therefore beware of your ways for a day will come when it shall be brought to light.  Let us Pray: Direct my path, Lord, let me walk in the path of Your command. Deliver me from pervert ways so that I may walk securely in all my ways. This I ask in the Na...

DEVOTION ~ WISE IN HEART

Theme: Wise in Heart Text: Proverbs 10:8 8 The wise in heart will receive commands, but a prating fool will fall. Taking instruction is key to success and it helps to curb the issues of regrets. For instance, if you fail to heed the directive of a manual, you are likely to damage the gadget even before you use it. Basically, every sphere of life comes with instructions that ought not to be overlooked. To stay healthy, we ought to adhere to nutritional directives and not abuse medications; to keep fit, we must exercise; academic excellence comes with studying; to be spiritually mature, we ought to adhere to the Lord's command; likewise to achieve organizational goals, we ought to align with all directives given. The wise are glad to be instructed and enjoy the benefit that comes with it whereas  a prating fool will fall flat on their faces. Dear beloved in the Lord, a wise heart is obedient to the Lord's command whereas a fool is ruined for not listening to the command of...

DEVOTION ~ MEMORIES

Theme: Memories Text: Proverbs 10:7 7 The memory of the righteous is blessed, but the name of the wicked will rot. It is easier for us to boldly recall good things that have happened to us but for the bad ones, most people will never wish to recall them. Memories of the godly create lasting impact but for the ungodly, it rots away. Dear beloved in the Lord, seek God and live peaceably with all for if you leave a good footprint behind, you shall be remembered. Avail yourself to the prompting of the Holy Spirit so that your actions will be remarkable wherever you find yourself. If you follow the Lord diligently, you shall be rewarded. May the nature of Christ fill you daily so that your ways will please the Lord. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for not living uprightly to impact lives. I pray I shall be renewed in the power of the Holy Spirit to leave behind good memories in all that I do. Thank You, Lord, for an answered prayer in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!     ...

DEVOTION ~ SHOWERS OF BLESSINGS

Theme: Showers of Blessings Text: Proverbs 10:6 6 Blessings are on the head of the righteous, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked. Our world has a touch of the godly and ungodly. The choice is ours to decide whether to allow godly or ungodly motives to reign in us. Note that with each choice we make, there is an outcome that could be pleasant or not. Deciding the path of godliness comes with challenges but if you endure, you shall be crowned with blessings. Dear beloved in the Lord, the godly are showered with blessings however, violence covers the ungodly. While the godly is showered with blessings the portion of the ungodly is a full absence of blessings. Do you desire the blessing of God? Then seek the righteousness of Christ in all your ways. Let us Pray: Almighty God, lead me in the path of righteousness so that Your blessings shall overflow in my life. Remove far from me the spirit of ungodliness and may calamities of the wicked be far from me and my loved ones in th...

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

Having wealth and the ability to secure it is quite challenging in this age. Hackers, buglers, thieves, and other valiant individuals constantly are looking for loopholes to steal from the wealthy and sometimes even from the poor. The blessing Moses declared over Israel is essential in our dispensation which is recorded in Deuteronomy 33:28 "S o Israel will live in safety, prosperous Jacob in security, in a land of grain and new wine, while the heavens drop down dew".   Declare, "In the Name of Jesus Christ, I decree the covenant in the Blood of Jesus preserves me and my loved ones therefore we dwell in safety. The Lord shall prosper our security in our going out and coming in, and in our laying down and rising up so that no evil befalls us. Henceforth, our daily supply shall never be lacking and the grace of abundance shall manifest in all spheres of our lives in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

CHARACTER STUDY ~ AMOS

The name Amos means burden bearer and he was from the Judean village of Tekoa and was sent to deliver the message of God to the King of Israel . Some Characteristics of Amos: ✔ Amos was a shepherd and a farmer when God called him to proclaim His message. The ministry of the prophet Amos reveals that God can use anyone to proclaim His Word.  Amos was not called because he was qualified but rather, God called Amos, who accepted the call, and God prepared him for what was to come. ✔ Amos when mocked for trying to make ends meet through prophecy, confessed that he was not a p rophet, no r was he a son of a prophet, b ut was a sheep breeder a nd a tender of sycamore fruit before  the Lord took him , a nd the Lord said to him,  ‘Go, prophesy to My people Israel.’      ✔ The main theme in Amos's message is  “judgment is coming due to sin.” We ought to learn to in a dispensation where many no longer see the need to be morally upright to boldly talk a...

DEVOTION ~ YOU'LL NEVER CAUSE SHAME

Theme: You'll Never Cause Shame  Text: Proverbs 10:5 5 He who gathers in summer is a wise son; He who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame.  In yesterday's devotion, we learned that we ought to be diligent by being hardworking rather than being lazy. The text for today weighs the work of the wise person against the lazy person. It is written, that there is time for everything under the sun, a time to plant, and a time for harvest. We ought to know what time it is in our lives. At the time of harvest, we should work effectively to ensure we secure the harvest. The harvest of our lives can be the time to study, nurture children, honor our marital vows, be responsible, work effectively, and get things done well. If we fail to make the best use of the time of harvest, we shall be a disgrace to ourselves, family, and society. Anyone who fails to work during the harvest comes to nothing and causes shame because of the result. Dear beloved in the Lord, never sleep during the ...

DEVOTION ~ HARD WORK PAYS OFF

Theme: Hard Work Pays Off Text: Proverbs 10:4 4 He who has a slack hand becomes poor, but the hand of the diligent makes rich. We have choices to make in life which include either being lazy or hardworking. Whatever we decide in life determines the outcome of our today and future. Anyone who has a slack hand becomes poor. Idleness does not produce anything profitable therefore get busy by learning something new, improving upon your skills, and acquiring new skills as it is a diligent thing to do. Dear beloved in the Lord, you ought to be diligent in life so that you can make wealth. Do not limit your sources of income but rather widen them so that at any given time, you can generate some income to support yourself and your loved ones. Hard work pays off so never be lazy.   Let us Pray: Almighty God, I lay my lazy hands before You, please touch them and transform them to receive power to become hardworking. I decree by Your touch, I receive concepts, ideas, and wisdom to impro...

DEVOTION ~ YOU WILL NEVER GO HUNGRY

Theme: You Will Never Go Hungry Text: Proverbs 10:3 3 The Lord will not allow the righteous soul to famish, but He casts away the desire of the wicked. In yesterday's devotion, we learned that the righteousness of Christ will deliver us from death. In the text for today, this same righteousness can also deliver us from hunger. Hunger is the distress associated with a lack of food. We become hungry if we show or feel the need for food. Aside from the basic necessity to eat, we also have other means of hunger which is the needs of our lives. Dear beloved in the Lord, if you are in Christ, then He shall Shepherd you and you shall lack no good thing in life. The Lord will not allow the righteous soul to famish for food, clothing, shelter, marriage, conception, educational success, career promotions, or business advancement and successes amongst others. Whatever you desire is your hunger, do not allow the deceitful words of the accuser to prevail but rather open your mouth and confess ...

DEVOTION ~ DELIVERED FROM DEATH

Theme: Delivered From Death Text: Proverbs 10:1 2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing, but righteousness delivers from death. Being wealthy is not a sin or a negative thing. However, whether wealth is beneficial or not is contingent on how it is acquired. Ill-gotten treasures have no lasting value for God's judgment will come upon such individuals. Taking a clue from how Jezebel usurped the vineyard of Naboth through unjust means. God's punishment was unleashed on the family of Ahab for such an evil act of killing Naboth (Refer to 1 Kings 21). Aside from the unjust gaining of wealth, not being able to honor God with our wealth also profits nothing. The parable of the rich fool is an example of not honoring God with our wealth (Refer to Luke 12:13-21). These examples of unjust wealth led to destruction and death. The tail end of this proverb gives hope that we shall be delivered from death through righteousness. The righteousness of Christ is a guarantee of abundant life to ...

DEVOTION ~ WISDOM OR FOLLY

Theme: Wisdom or Folly Text: Proverbs 10:1 10 The proverbs of Solomon: A wise son makes a glad father, but a foolish son is the grief of his mother. The joy of every parent is to watch their children grow in obedience and bring honor home either with good grades, winning awards, or doing something remarkable in society. The text for today is one of the proverbs attributed to King Solomon. The proverbs open by telling us what children bring to their parents either gladness or grief. A wise son makes his father glad. To be a wise child implies to be obedient to your parents and to honor the Name of the Lord in deed and in words. The reverse is true of a foolish child. A wise child's actions bring joy to the father as this brings recognition to the father's name in society. However, the foolish child's actions grieve the mother's heart as shame, disgrace, reproach, and disrepute are associated with the family's name. Dear beloved in the Lord, the repercussions of our ...

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

The saving grace of God brings victories and helps us to subdue our adversaries underfoot. Moses' blessings over the Israelites after blessing each tribe end with a very warm blessing of God's unfailing protection. This is recorded in  Deuteronomy 33:26&27 “There is no one like the God of Jeshurun, who rides the heavens to help you, and in His excellency on the clouds. The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms; He will thrust out the enemy from before you, and will say, ‘Destroy!’ Declare, "The God I serve is incomparable and no one can match up to the Lord in anything. In His  majestic splendor, God comes to my rescue daily. The eternal God is my refuge,  His everlasting arms are under me, He drives out the enemy before me, and  He cries out for my adversaries to be destroyed. I decree my week displays the splendor of the Almighty God in the Name of Jesus Christ have I prayed. AMEN!"

CHARACTER STUDY ~ EUTYCHUS

The name Eutychus means fortunate. He was only mentioned in the Acts of the Apostles to have been an audience to Paul's sermon at Troas.  Some Characteristics of Eutychus: ✔ Eutychus was a follower of the Way. To be found amid the audience of Paul all through the night is proof that he was a part of the believers of the way. We ought to prioritize being in the presence of God than places of orgies.  ✔ Eutychus chose the wrong place to sit while listening to the apostle Paul. We ought to sit at a more convenient place when listening to long speeches whether at church, community, workplace, or school. Keep in mind that safety is paramount in all things.   ✔ Eutychus who was sinking into a deep sleep, was overcome by sleep and as Paul continued speaking, he fell  down from the third story and was taken up dead. Casualties are bound to happen during any event whether for good or evil. Let us ensure all who are involved in our gatherings observe safety...

DEVOTION ~ GOD SHALL SATISFY YOU

Theme: God Shall Satisfy You  Text: Psalm 91:15&16 15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation.” In yesterday's devotion, we learned that by loving God and trusting in the Name of Jesus, we shall be delivered from satanic attacks. Today's text is a build-up of yesterday's devotion. God gives us an assurance in the text that, He will respond when we call to Him and deliver us from our troubles. No one has ever called on Jesus to deliver him/her and He failed to answer. Peter cried out Lord save me when he was sinking and Jesus stretched His Hand to deliver Him. The patriarch of old, the apostles, and even in our own lives, Jesus has answered our call for help in diverse miraculous ways. God's deliverance comes along with honor, satisfaction, and salvation. The deliverance of God takes away the shame and reproach the devil has afflict...

DEVOTION ~ GOD WILL DELIVER YOU

Theme: God Will Deliver You Text: Psalm 91:14 14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high because he has known My name. In yesterday's devotion, we learned that we shall trample underfoot every fearful and deadly challenge life presents us with. The text today enlightens us that God shall deliver us based on two key things: First, we have set our love upon Him, and second, because we know His Name. To set our love upon the Lord is to be obedient to every instruction He gives us. We do not just say by lips that we love the Lord but our actions speak volumes of how we love Him by keeping to His command. The Name of the Lord is a strong tower the righteous run into and are saved. It is also recorded that, by the mention of the Name Jesus, every knee must bow and every tongue in the heaven, earth, and the sea confesses that He is the Lord. So, our deliverance is in loving God and trusting His Name as a strong tower. Dear beloved in the...

DEVOTION ~ YOU SHALL TRAMPLE THEM UNDERFOOT

Theme: You Shall Trample them Underfoot Text: Psalm 91:13 13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.   In yesterday's devotion, we learned that God will charge His angels over us to protect us at all times from any form of harm. The text for today is an encouraging one to us that we shall subdue whatever raises itself against us in life no matter how fearful or deadly it presents itself against us. The lion is a fearful beast while the serpent is a venomous reptile these represent the adversaries we encounter every step of the way in our life journey. The good news is that we have been empowered to trample underfoot the fearful and deadly challenges of life. Dear beloved in the Lord, let nothing trouble you because you shall trample it underfoot with the help of the Holy Spirit.  Let us Pray: O God from You come my strength and courage to tread on the lion and cobra and to completely trample all challenges under...

DEVOTION ~ ANGELS WILL PROTECT YOU

Theme: Angels Will Protect You Text: Psalm 91:11&12 11 For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. 12 In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone. In yesterday's devotion, we learned that our secured dwelling place is solely in the Lord. Today's text assures us that God will charge His angels over us at all times. In the realm of the physical, people of high social standing employ the services of bodyguards to ensure their safety. However can these guards be helpful in the realm of the spiritual? Guess your response is as good as mine, absolutely no. The provision of angels to keep us in all our ways is to ensure no evil comes near us. As we learned yesterday evil can only come near us after defeating the Lord which is mission impossible. The angels shall hold us in their hands so that we do not make deadly mistakes, or fall in the snare of the wicked. Dear beloved in the Lord, you shall never dash your fo...

DEVOTION ~ SECURED DWELLING PLACE

Theme: Secured Dwelling Place Text: Psalm 91:9&10 9 Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place,  10 No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling Have you ever spent the night in the open? If you have, I guess you will recall how uncomfortable and scary the night was being alone or even with company. You are constantly on the lookout for reptiles, thieves, or evil thereby unable to enjoy a sound sleep. This trauma did not just affect your night but also messed up your day because of the aftermath of the night. The text for today is a continuity of why no evil shall come near you from the previous devotion. If you make the Lord your refuge and your shelter, no evil shall befall you nor can any plague come near you. Do you know why? It is because the evil must defeat the Lord first before it can have access to you. Fortunately, the devil has been defeated over and over again by the power of God. Dear b...

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

In a world where each passing day is a projection of health failures and deterioration, it seems to look as though age is a contributing factor to the health crisis. Moses' blessing over the tribe of Asher is just not for the abundance of wealth but also good health even as they increase in age. This blessing is recorded in  Deuteronomy 33:24&25  And of Asher he said: “Asher is most blessed of sons; Let him be favored by his brothers and let him dip his foot in oil. Your sandals shall be iron and bronze; As your days, so shall your strength be. Declare, "In the Name of Jesus Christ, I am the most blessed in life for the favor of God speaks over my life daily therefore protocols are broken for my sake. I am e steemed by my brethren and by divine order according to the provision of Jesus' sacrifice, I possess the wealth of nations. I decree the bolts of my strongholds shall be of iron and bronze. As the Lord adds to my age, so shall my strength increase and I shall conti...

CHARACTER STUDY ~ KING JEHU

There were about five different people named Jehu in the bible: one was a prophet, the other a king, there was also a son of Obed named Jehu, Joshebia also named his son Jehu, and finally there existed a Benjamite called Jehu. Our study shall be focused on the King of Israel. Jehu is a masculine name of Hebrew origin meaning “He is God.”  Some Characteristics of King Jehu: ✔ King Jehu was the son of Nimshi a descendant of Jehoshaphat. He was one of the commanders of the army of Israel.   ✔ Jehu was anointed king of Israel at Ramoth Gilead by one of the sons of the prophets as instructed by prophet Elisha. He received a divine prophecy to kill and wipe out the dynasty of Ahab which he fulfilled. He also killed all who worshipped idols in a strategically planned plot by proclaiming a solemn assembly in the temple of Baal. In whatever capacity you serve in your family, congregation, community, or nation desire to know the purpose God has in mind for giving you...

DEVOTION ~ IT SHALL NOT COME NEAR YOU

Theme: It Shall Not Come Near You Text: Psalm 91:7&8 7 A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. 8 Only with your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked.   In yesterday's devotion, we learned that so long as we abide in the shadow of the Almighty, we shall not be afraid of the wickedness of the wicked. The text for today speaks of the deliverance of God when evil abounds. Thousands shall fall in times of epidemic and pandemic but it shall not come near your tent. When the wicked are being punished, you will behold it. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't compromise your faith and trust in God because of prevailing storms of life for the storm and the wind obey God's command to be still. No evil shall come near you in the Name of Jesus Christ.  Let us Pray: Dear God,  please protect me from evil may thousands fall at my side and ten thousand at my right hand but none shall come near me. I decree I...

DEVOTION ~ ARE YOU AFRAID?

Theme: Are You Afraid? Text: Psalm 91:5&6 5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, 6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. In yesterday's devotion, we learned that God shall deliver us from evil traps and deadly diseases. Today's text is the psalmist's assurance that there is no need to fear if you are secured in the shelter of the Most High. Are you frightened by the sight of the wickedness of the wicked? You don't have to for the Lord is your refuge and fortress. The wicked schemes evil at any given time whether by night or day; dawn, morning, noon, twilight, evening, and deep in the night. The wicked terrify people by night, they shoot arrows of untimely death, affliction, pain, unforgiveness, bitterness, discord, and all manner of evil arrows by day. As we awake to have a quiet moment with God and to seek His face, they shoot arrows of evil against people by...

DEVOTION ~ GOD SHALL DELIVER YOU

Theme: God Shall Deliver You Text: Psalm 91:3&4 3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. 4 He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings, you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. In yesterday's devotion, we learned that, if we find ourselves in the shelter of the Most High, we shall be secured under His shadow. Today's text is an assurance of deliverance from satanic traps and deadly diseases. In a dispensation where all manner of diseases and health issues are on the ascendency, we need to trust God to heal us and our lands. Taking clues from the hen, it  spreads its wings over its chicks to prevent predators from attacking them. This analogy is shown in this psalm that God will cover us with His feathers and we shall take refuge in His wings.  His faithful promises are our armor and protection in moments of difficulty.  Let us Pray: Almighty God, have mercy on me and deliver ...

DEVOTION ~ THE SHADOW OF THE ALMIGHTY

Theme: The Shadow of the Almighty Text: Psalm 91:1&2 91 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” To dwell in the secret place of the Most High God is to find yourself in His shelter. In the shelter of the Lord, you receive divine shade under His shadow. This protects you from the hazards of life and keeps you secure all the time. In confidence, you can agree with the psalmist that God is your refuge and fortress. A refuge is the state of being safe or sheltered from pursuit, danger, or difficulty. Whereas a fortress is a military stronghold, especially a strongly fortified town. In God's dwelling, these two apply concurrently and none shall fail irrespective of the adversary's strategy. Dear beloved in the Lord, with this mechanism at play when we dwell in the secret place of the Most High God, we ought to trust Him fervently. Y...
