DEVOTION ~ WHAT DO YOU HAVE?

Theme: What Do You Have?  Text: 2 Kings 4:1&2 4 A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the Lord. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves.” 2 So Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” And she said, “Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.” Life does present the unexpected to us, but it's outcome depends on how we handle the situation. This widow is faced with a challenge of her late husband's indebtedness. The creditor intends to take her two sons in place of the debt even though he is in the known his direct debtor is dead. What a wicked world, the innocent suffers the guilt of another. The dead man feared God but the devil wants to put shame to his memory by taking his two sons into slavery. God blesses the home of the just so we need to look up to Him.  Dear belov...

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

Be exalted O God above the heavens and Your glory above all the earth. I will continually praise You among the nations for great is Your mercy towards us. Who is like unto Thee O Lord amongst the gods? You're glorious in holiness, fearful in praise and doing wonders. Hallelujah! It is written, "Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know". Father in the name of Jesus Christ, we are calling unto You to go before us in this week, and in everything we do. We pray Your presence shall abide with us and grant us victory in all that we do. By Thy presence, we decree, we have received the power from on High to know great and mighty things in live. We hold the secrets of our successes and walk in all confidence for the Blood of Jesus gives us a seal and protection at all times. We decree our week is blessed with good health, traveling mercies, prosperous ventures, divine encounters and all blessings divine in the name of Jesus Chr...

DEVOTION ~ GIFTS DIVINE

Theme: Gifts Divine  Text: 1 Corinthians 12:29-31  29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? 30 Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? 31 But earnestly desire the best gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way. As we learnt in yesterday's devotion, we've been divinely appointed to function well in the uplifting and advancement of the Gospel to the world especially where there's darkness. We've not been called to just do one thing but to perform diverse roles in harmony. We can't all have the same gift if not, the Kingdom work cannot be carried out effectively. God in His infinite wisdom knows that we need these gifts and so made them all available unto us. May we desire this gifts and when the Holy Spirit grants our request, let us use it to the benefit of all and to the glorification of our God. Prayer: Raise us up O Lord for Your Kingdom. Breath upon the church the gifts of the S...

DEVOTION ~ THE BODY OF CHRIST

Theme: The Body of Christ  Text: 1 Corinthians 12:27&28 27 Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually. 28 And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues. Our devotion this week has been focused on the human body and its various parts. It is an illustration of the body of Christ with diverse gifts from the same Spirit. We are all part of the body of Christ and have been divinely appointed to function well in the uplifting and advancement of the Gospel to the world especially where there's darkness. This when done have positive replication on our lives and families.  Dear beloved in the Lord, we have been called into one Vineyard but with diverse ministries. Identifying our ministries is key to functioning well. Just as a square hole cannot take a round peg, so will we not effectively and efficiently make use of our gifts if we ...

DEVOTION ~ NO SCHISM IN THE BODY

Theme: No Schism in the Body  Text: 1 Corinthians 12:24-26  24 but our presentable parts have no need. But God composed the body, having given greater honor to that part which lacks it, 25 that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another. 26 And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it. In yesterday's devotion we looked at coexisting where we mentioned that though we may all not have the same perspective to issues, we need to coexist in order to promote the well-being of the family and advance the Kingdom of God. In today's devotion we will at no schism in the body. Schism simply means a split or division.  Dear beloved in the Lord, schism comes about when we fail to cover up for others weaknesses. When you feel the praise must come to you and not the others, your way of doing things begin to contradict the others which births schism. The Ap...

DEVOTION ~ COEXISTING

Theme: COEXISTING  Text: 1 Corinthians 12:20-23   20 But now indeed there are many members, yet one body. 21 And the eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you”; nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” 22 No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary. 23 And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor; and our unpresentable parts have greater modesty In yesterday's devotion we mentioned how excuses can create vaccum for the devil to manipulate in our families and the church. Today, we will look at the parts of the body in relation to coexisting. To coexist means to exist in harmony despite different ideologies or interests. Though we may all not have the same perspective to issues we need to coexist in order to promote the well-being of the family and advance the Kingdom of God. Discrimination should not have its place among us. Let's collaborate in performing our du...

DEVOTION ~ AS HE PLEASES

Theme: As He Pleases  Text: 1 Corinthians 12:15-19 15 If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body? 16 And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body? 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling? 18 But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased. 19 And if they were all one member, where would the body be? We established yesterday God used our body to teach us the unified body of Christ. In today's devotion, we would looked at how it pleases the Lord to position the various parts of the body. It pleases the Lord to grant us diverse roles in our families and in the Kingdom of God. The variations complement each other so work will be harmonious and as well move the families and the Kingdom strategically forward. If each of us begin to give excuses in the role...

DEVOTION ~ BAPTIZED INTO ONE BODY

Theme: Baptized Into One Body  Text: 1 Corinthians 12:12-14 12 For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. 13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. 14 For in fact the body is not one member but many. Can you take a good look at yourself? How will you describe yourself? What makes up your body? God always uses what's around us to illustrate His ways with us. In this instance, He used our body. Though our body is one, yet we have different parts that play vital roles in their composition. So are we also in Christ; though we are from diverse backgrounds, yet in Christ we are one. The baptism we received is unto redemption in the Blood of Jesus and the Holy Spirit is a seal of our adoption in Christ Jesus. We have all partaken of the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ through eucharis. The...

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

Father Giver of life and the Sustainer thereof glory be to Your Holy Name. We bless Your Name for adopting us into Your glorious kingdom by the grace of Christ. We render unto You all the thanksgiving and adoration for there's none like You and none can ever be compared to Your Mighty and Sovereign Name.  It is written, "But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills". Father in the name of Jesus Christ, we surrender to You and call forth Your Spirit to work in us. We decree in the name of Jesus Christ, we are possessors of the gifts of the Spirit and they manifest greatly in us in all that we do to the benefit of all. We decree our week if Spirit filled and as the Lord be for us, no evil power can be against us. By the presence of God with us, we are victorious in all things and we are for signs and wonders to the glory of our God. AMEN! 1 Corinthians 12:11

DEVOTION ~ DIVERSE TONGUES

Theme: Diverse Tongues  Text: 1 Corinthians 12:10b  to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. There exist two kinds of tongues; the tongues of men and the tongues of angels. The former emanated from the days of building the tower of Babel. This gave rise to the languages of men. But this kind of tongue brought division among men. The later came to being during Pentecost to unite the body of Christ. Our devotion is based on the later. The tongues of angels is a gift of the Holy Spirit and He also gives gifts for its interpretation. (Genesis 11:1-9; Acts 2) This gift can either be to benefit the recipient and/or other believers. For he who speaks in tongues does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries. It is for that reason interpretation is needed. If it's for personal benefit the the recipient is admonished to keep silent in church, and let him speak to himself and to God. Howeve...

DEVOTION ~ MIRACLES, PROPHECY, AND DISCERNMENT

Theme: Miracles, Prophecy and Discernment  Text: 1 Corinthians 12:10a 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits In today's devotion, we will be looking at three gifts of the Spirit; working of miracles, prophecy, and discerning of spirits. The Spirit of the Lord works miracles to intervene in ordinary issues of men in a supernatural way. Miracles happen around us each day: the blind receives sight, the lame walks, miracle brings about divine provision and lifting. Miracle occurs in the issues of life that the carnal mind has no hope of change whereas the hope of the believer is sparked. The Holy Spirit also gives us the power to know what lies ahead through prophecy which is a direct Word from God. Prophecy comes to give hope to the church, to direct the church in the will of God, and to reveal God's purpose for the church as one body and individuals. However, for believers to know if really the prophecy is of God, the same Spi...

DEVOTION ~ FAITH AND HEALING

Theme: Faith and Healing  Text: 1 Corinthians 12:9 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit In yesterday's devotion, we saw how the Holy Spirit works in us with the gifts of word of knowledge and wisdom. Today, we will look at other two gifts; faith and healing. The believer can only through faith please God. If we hope in the Lord in all things and at all times, His Word will cause us to triumph. Faith comes by the hearing of the Word of God. When we hear the Word and believe, we are freed from anxiety, worries, fear and doubts to attain the favour of the Lord. By faith we can move mountains and defy the odds.  Faith can stir the atmosphere for healing but healing in itself is also a spiritual gift. Healing is receiving well-being or recovery from sickness, illness and diseases. By the Supernatural power of God, the sick receive complete good health where the human expects could not bring about healing. Healing can also come about...

DEVOTION ~ THE WORD OF KNOWLEDGE AND WISDOM

Theme: Word of Knowledge and Wisdom  Text: 1 Corinthians 12:8 8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit The Word of knowledge and wisdom are spiritual gifts of the Holy Spirit. The Word of knowledge is a gift that gives divine insight to a believer to know about something beyond the ordinary human capacity. Whereas the Word of wisdom gives supernatural ability to properly apply the Word of knowledge.  As believers, we need both spiritual gifts to help us in our families, the church and even in our communities. The Holy Spirit prompts us when things are not moving according to the will of God by the Word of knowledge and gives us divine direction as to how to overcome or solve the problem through the Word of wisdom. Let us desire for these gifts and avail ourselves to the directions of the Holy Spirit that we may receive them from Him freely. Prayer: Father in the name of Jesus Christ, grant unto us the...

DEVOTION ~ DIVERSE GIFTS BUT SAME SPIRIT

Theme: Diverse Gifts but Same Spirit  Text: 1 Corinthians 12:4-7 4 There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: In our walk with God, He blesses us with diverse gifts, ministry, and activities yet all these come from the Holy Spirit. Despite the blessings are different yet the same Spirit of God grants them to us. Just like the different parts of our body, that serves different purposes yet they belong to just one body, in the same way does God perform these spiritual gifts in us for the benefit of the body of Christ. Dear beloved in the Lord, there is one body and one Spirit, just as we were called in one hope according to the grace in Christ Jesus. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them for God's glo...

DEVOTION ~ SPIRITUAL GIFTS

Theme: Spiritual Gifts  Text: 1 Corinthians 12:1-3 12 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant: 2 You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led. 3 Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit. As believers in Christ Jesus, our pilgrimage cannot be successful without the fueling of the Holy Spirit. For the Holy Spirit works to perfect us both spiritually and physically so we can be conscious of our environs. He does this by bestowing on us spiritual gifts. Spiritual gifts are gifts (presents) of the Holy Spirit to anyone who believes in Christ Jesus.  By these spiritual gifts of the Holy Spirit, we are able to confess who Christ is to the glory of God. In our carnal nature, we're only seeking after the desires of the flesh. But when the Spirit of God leads us, we desire and attain the gifts o...

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I'll love You at all times for You are my strength, shield and the horn of my salvation. You're worthy of my praise Lord God Almighty for You have never failed in caring for me and my household. Glory be to Your Name now and forevermore.  I decree in the name of Jesus Christ as it is written; I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel; My heart also instructs me in the night seasons. I have set the Lord always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved. O God at my right hand I pray let every devise of the counsel of Ahithophel, the conspiracy of Jezebel against any area of my life, and the plot of Haman be overturned by the power of the Holy Spirit. Let their enterprise against me and all that is mine be brought to nought in the name of Jesus Christ. AMEN! Psalm 16:7&8

DEVOTION ~ C. H. SURGEON'S QUOTE

"Hope itself is like a star- not to be seen in the sunshine of prosperity, and only to be discovered in the night of adversity" ~ #CHARLES H. SPURGEON  Let's keep hope alive in all circumstances for if do not faint we will attain the glory. The year is too young don't get discouraged. Trust God for better days ahead and it shall end in praise in the name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ ONE FLESH

Theme: One Flesh  Text: Genesis 2:23-25 23 And Adam said: “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.” 24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. 25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed. The presentation of Eve to Adam instituted marriage; man leaves his parents to be joined to his wife. Adam embraced his wife with profound words expressed out of love and a sincere heart.  He said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh". He recognized Eve takes his nature (she is a human being). He was also quick to name her woman expressing she was taken out of Man. His expression is well understood in Apostle Paul's epistle - Ephesians 5:28&29; So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and che...

DEVOTION ~ THE RIB OF A MAN

Theme: The Rib of a Man Text: Genesis 2:21&22 21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. 22 Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. In yesterday's devotion, we saw how man had a beautiful task of naming all the things God created however he had no companion of his kind. To make a suitable companion for man, God put man to sleep and took of his rib and close it up with flesh. Dear beloved in the Lord, whatever God has entrusted to you He will use to do might things in your life. He used the rib of Adam to create his companion. Husbands must learn that, God used the rib of Adam to communicate the essence of loving and protecting their wives. It also brings to light woman is a companion not a slave to man. The deep sleep of Adam indicates he was not present when Eve was being created. This relates to the upbringing of every ...

DEVOTION ~ A BEAUTIFUL TASK

Theme: A Beautiful Task Text:, Genesis 2:18-20 18 And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” 19 Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name. 20 So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him. One purpose of God creating is to ensure all things in nature have suitable companion. However, Adam was without a helpmate  making him to be alone. So God intended to give him a helpmate. Even before his wife was brought to him, he was given a task to perform - Name the animals and all other creatures. It is during the task his challenge was detected. Dear beloved in the Lord, whatever you desire to possess or have in life, you need to work at it and seek God...

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

Lord, when I consider the mountains, valleys, seas, land and all things in nature, I see the beauty of Your Handwork. You deserve the glory, honour and praise for the excellent work you have done and continue to do. May Your praise continually be on the lips of the living. Father in the name of Jesus Christ, it is written, "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you."  Thank You for the promise of Your presence in this year. I decree in the name of Jesus Christ,  I overcome every fear of uncertainty by the power of the Holy Spirit. I break the yoke of fear as the presence of God is with me in all circumstances. The challenges of life may present themselves but cannot overtake me because the Lord will be with me when I pass through the waters, and in the fire. I will never walk alone because the Triune God will always keep me c...

DEVOTION ~ MAN IN EDEN

Theme: Man in Eden  Text: Genesis 2:15-17 15 Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” God has always strategically positioned us in life. He ensures before we enter into the next level, all things are rightfully placed so we can perform our tasks well. Adam didn't labour for Eden, his was to tend and keep it. Eden was sorrow free but comes with a command that must not be compromised.  Adam could freely eat of every tree in the garden expect the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. It has a nice name but it's fruits leads to destruction. By eating the fruit, man must surely die. Dear beloved in the Lord, the position you occupy has great respect and can command the fulfillment of your desires but note that, if...

DEVOTION ~ MORE THAN GOLD

Theme: More than Gold  Text: Genesis 2:10-14 10 Now a river went out of Eden to water the garden, and from there it parted and became four riverheads. 11 The name of the first is Pishon; it is the one which skirts the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold. 12 And the gold of that land is good. Bdellium and the onyx stone are there. 13 The name of the second river is Gihon; it is the one which goes around the whole land of Cush. 14 The name of the third river is Hiddekel; it is the one which goes toward the east of Assyria. The fourth river is the Euphrates. Often if we sit back and look at the Hand work of God, we will see clearly that even the richest man on earth is the most miserable man in heaven. This is because, the Creator has but given a fraction of His wealth to that man. Eden is a pure beauty or tourist attraction to behold. The four riverheads from the river that waters Eden gave detailed account of the awe nature of Eden. Dear beloved in the Lord, if we have Jesus,...

DEVOTION ~ THE PLANTED GARDEN

Theme: The Planted Garden  Text: Genesis 2:8&9 8 The Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed. 9 And out of the ground the Lord God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. God never position us in life to lack any good thing. From the time of old, He made life easier for Adam by the provision of a garden. It was just not an ordinary garden but one that had been cultivated already. The essence of the planted garden was to make man see the beauty of nature and as well have food to eat. God always make provision for our pleasure and satisfaction don't be deceived by the devil to seek worthless pleasures.  In whatever capacity you've been called to serve this year and beyond, note that God has already strategically made provision for you. Yours is to draw nearer to God and ask Him to lead you. There a...

DEVOTION ~A LIVING BEING

Theme: A Living Being  Text: Genesis 2:7 7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. From the dust of the ground the Lord God formed man. But man cannot have life without the breath of God. It gives deeper understanding of how empty and meaningless our lives become in the absence of God in our lives. The part of God that sets us in motion is His breath of life. Dear beloved in the Lord, we all need the breath of life to sail successfully through this year. By the breath of life, we become living beings. As living beings, we can do all things; build our homes, ministry, career, business, relationships amongst others. The more we feed on God's Word the more we become nourished to grow in stature, mind and in spirit. Prayer: Dear God, from Your Spirit to my spirit I receive life. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ that You breath upon me the breath of life in all that I do. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ GOD OF POSSIBILITIES

Theme: God of Possibilities  Text: Genesis 2:4-6 4 This is the history of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens, 5 before any plant of the field was in the earth and before any herb of the field had grown. For the Lord God had not caused it to rain on the earth, and there was no man to till the ground; 6 but a mist went up from the earth and watered the whole face of the ground. The earth is filled with layers of rocks and soil. It needs dew or the rain to cool it but in the absence of all these, God cause mist from the earth to water it. God is able to do mighty and great things with us if only we believe. He has the power to determine what ought to exist or not. We need to lay low (humble ourselves before God).  Dear beloved in the Lord, our God is the God of possibilities. He cannot disappoint us if we follow Him diligently. God will provide for us from the very things that challenges our lives. Do not ...

DEVOTION ~ TAKE A REST

Theme: Take a Rest  Text: Genesis 2:1-3 2 Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. 2 And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made. Rest is essential in life just like food. It must not be ignored for it is needed to refresh the body. Six days the Lord created all things and rested on the seventh day. Dear beloved in the Lord, resolve to make time to rest this year. Do not overburdened your body without giving it enough rest. The absence of rest can lead to health challenges which if not well managed can result in death. Let us learn from the Lord to take rest from our labour. Do not compromise your annual leave for anything, and make good use of public holidays in the year to relax and reflect on your work. For our spiritual well-being a hol...

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

My heart rejoices in You O God for great and marvelous are Thy works. Thank You for the grace to start another year. Take glory for making us see this year. Let everything that has breath praise the name of our God and declare His Majesty.  It is written according to Your Own Word that, "I will be like the dew to Israel (INSERT YOUR NAME); He shall grow like the lily, and lengthen his roots like Lebanon". Father in the name of Jesus Christ, let Your dew fall upon us and all that is ours. We declare in the name of Jesus Christ every sphere of our lives receives divine growth like the lily and takes deeper root like the roots of Lebanon.  We declare by the power of divine growth, our branches (marriage, children, families, careers, ministry, businesses, finances, health, and all that we do) shall spread. By the ever presence of the Holy Spirit, our beauty shall be like an olive tree, and his fragrance like Lebanon. Many will find solace in our dwelling. Those who dwell under ou...

DEVOTION ~ HAPPY NEW YEAR 2022

Theme: HAPPY NEW YEAR 2022 Text: Psalm 100 100  Make a joyful shout to the  Lord , all you lands!  2  Serve the  Lord  with gladness;  Come before His presence with singing.  3  Know that the  Lord , He is God;  It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;  We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.  4  Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,  and into His courts with praise.  Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.  5  For the  Lord  is good;  His mercy is everlasting,  and His truth endures to all generations.
