DEVOTION ~ I AM IS WITH YOU

Theme: I AM is with You Text: Jeremiah 1:7&8 7 But the Lord said to me: “Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’ For you shall go to all to whom I send you, and whatever I command you, you shall speak. 8 Do not be afraid of their faces, for I am with you to deliver you,” says the Lord. In yesterday's devotion we saw how the young Jeremiah said he was only a youth sincerely but it came out of fear. Today's devotion will look at the Lord's response to him. The Lord corrected him and said, "Do not say, ‘I am a youth". Dear beloved in the Lord, do not accept limitations in your life. No matter the challenge you face in life look up to God to deliver you.  To strengthen the young man, God further gave him encouragement saying, "For you shall go to all to whom I send you, and whatever I command you, you shall speak". One focus should remain clear in your mind when fear knocks at your door; that's I AM THAT I AM  is with you in all things. The Lord's name Emman...

DEVOTION ~ I AM A YOUTH

Theme: I Am a Youth  Text: Jeremiah 1:6 6 Then said I: “Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth.” Usually in life, our act of being honest could be triggered by fear. In the text for today, young Jeremiah before he was called to be a prophet, responded to the call that he was a youth. It was a sincere talk that he was a youth but his response came out of fear; fear of the people he will send God's Word to. Dear beloved in the Lord, do not give room for fear in your life. It impedes your glory and makes you static in life. Jeremiah said he cannot speak (face matured and educated minds) when asked to convey God's message because of the attack he will suffer in the hands of these people. Let your honest word reach the Lord but do not let fear be attached. Don't forget, God knows you even before you were formed in your mother's womb. Open up to the Lord in faith and He will surely lead you to an expected end. Prayer: Thank You Lord Almighty that You know what...

DEVOTION ~ THE LORD KNOWS YOU

Theme: The Lord Knows You  Text: Jeremiah 1:4&5 4 Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying: 5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” How awe it is for the Lord to know us even before we were formed in our mothers womb. Imagine how it feels like for others (the elderly) to tell us of how we used to behave growing up as children. It got you smiling huh! We have no clue we've ever behaved in such a manner because we were literally unconscious of our ways. God's knowledge about us can only be known if we draw nearer to Him. Once we know what He has intend us to be, our lives blossom in all areas. By virtue of the Blood of Jesus, we've been sanctified (set apart) for the glorious grace in Him. Not only have we been set aside as Holy and royal priesthoods, the Lord's Spirit has come to rest in us to proclaim the Good News to the end of the earth. Dear beloved in the Lord, you're...

DEVOTION ~ HEARING FROM GOD

Theme: Hearing from God Text: Jeremiah 1:1-3 1 The words of Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah, of the priests who were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin, 2 to whom the word of the Lord came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign. 3 It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, until the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah the son of Josiah, king of Judah, until the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in the fifth month. In the dispensation of the prophets, they do hear the Word of God and relay it to the people of Israel and Judah. The Lord speaks His Word through the diligent and faithful servants of His house. Jeremiah a young boy also received the grace to hear from the Lord. Each and every one of us can be the Jeremiah of our homes and communities if only we will set our hearts right with God.  Dear beloved in the Lord, thanks be to God through Christ Jesus that the Holy Spirit is always with us and helps ...

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

Oh Lord for Thy goodness sake, I'll praise You the more. And for Thy loving-kindness, I'll tell others about You ceaselessly. From the depth of my heart, I worship You O King of glory. My heart delights in You my Saviour and Lord for You have sustained me from my mother's womb till this very hour. What would have been of me if You were not there for me? Hallelujah! It is written, Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am actively watching over My word to fulfill it.” Father in the name of Jesus Christ, watch over Your Word concerning my marriage, children, family, ministry, education, finances, business, career, friendships, health, and every sphere of my life to perform it according to Your perfect will for my life. I reject any negative word or satanic enchantment against any area of my life by the covenant Blood of Jesus. I only respond to the Word of God and nothing else in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ have I asked. AMEN! Jeremiah 1:12

DEVOTION ~ OUR PURPOSE OF EXISTENCE

Theme: Our Purpose of Existence  Text: Luke 4:42&43 42  Now when it was day, He departed and went into a deserted place. And the crowd sought Him and came to Him, and tried to keep Him from leaving them;  43  but He said to them,  “I must   preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent.”   44  And He was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee. Jesus knew His purpose on this earth when He walked upon it. Due to that, He was never carried away by circumstances of any kind. He knew when its time to say goodbye and to move on in life. As His followers, we need to cultivate this nature of His so that we can fulfill our God given assignments on this earth. We ought to always align with the Holy Spirit so we can please the Father. Prayer: Dear God, I invite Your Holy Spirit to help me in all life's situations. Teach me to walk diligently in the purpose for which You have called me in the name of Je...

DEVOTION ~ LAY IT BEFORE THE LORD

Theme: Lay it Before the Lord  Text: Luke 4:40&41 40  When the sun was setting, all those who had any that were sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and He laid His hands on every one of them and healed them.  41  And demons also came out of many, crying out and saying, “You are the Christ, the Son of God!”  And He, rebuking  them,  did not allow them to speak, for they knew that He was the Christ.  Challenges in life are bound to happen but the decision to how best to curb or avoid them depend on the individual. In the text of today, those with various diseases were brought before the Lord for Him to heal them. That's a good initiative from the individuals and their loved ones. When life hit you badly and you seem not to have a way out because the experts say it is impossible to solve the problem, just lay it before the Lord. To lay it before the Lord implies asking God to intervene in the situation. This is bec...

DEVOTION ~ REBUKE THE FEVER!

Theme: Rebuke the Fever!  Text: Luke 4:38&39 38 Now He arose from the synagogue and entered Simon’s house. But Simon’s wife’s mother was sick with a high fever, and they made request of Him concerning her. 39 So He stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. And immediately she arose and served them. We've seen the mighty Hand of the Lord in the chapter and today's text gives another account of God's miracle in Simon's house. Simon’s wife’s mother was sick with a high fever and this was made known to Jesus so He could heal her. Jesus rebuked the fever and it left her. Dear beloved in the Lord, what's your fever? Your fever could be ill-health, fear, financial crisis, academic challenges, marital issues, amongst others. Do not let it suppress you rather employ the Word of the Lord. Rebuke the fever in the name of Jesus Christ. Begin to rebuke every form of fever that is not allowing you to be useful in life. It was after the fever left Simon’s wife’s m...

DEVOTION ~ WHAT A WORD THIS IS!

Theme: What a Word This is!  Text: Text 4:35-37 35 But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!” And when the demon had thrown him in their midst, it came out of him and did not hurt him. 36 Then they were all amazed and spoke among themselves, saying, “What a word this is! For with authority and power He commands the unclean spirits, and they come out.” 37 And the report about Him went out into every place in the surrounding region. In yesterday's devotion we saw how an unclean demon was in the synagogue. This unclean demon was quick to identify the Lord and asked if He was there to destroy him. The Lord's response and the reaction of the people is what will be our study for the day. The Lord did not say much words; “Be quiet, and come out of him!” Immediately the demon came out of the man.  At the Word of the Lord, demons tremble and obey the command without hesitating. It's in this amazement the people said, “What a word this is! For with authority and ...

DEVOTION ~ AN UNCLEAN DEMON IN THE SYNAGOGUE

Theme: An Unclean Demon in the Synagogue  Text: Luke 4:33&34 33 Now in the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon. And he cried out with a loud voice, 34 saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!” The synagogue where believers meet has been filled with an unclean demon. Oh mine! The devil attacks just anywhere he is given the chance. The spirit of the unclean demon knows its place is not in the synagogue but it was there causing all the havoc it could until Jesus came there. Dear beloved in the Lord, if Christ takes sit in your heart and life, demons will flee at your sight. Just as the demon possessed man asked Jesus, "What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us?" so will the demons around you tremble if you have Jesus. It's amazing how the demon possessed could easily identify the Christ but some believers find it di...

DEVOTION ~ THE WORD HAS AUTHORITY

Theme: The Word Has Authority  Text: Luke 4:31&32 31 Then He went down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and was teaching them on the Sabbaths. 32 And they were astonished at His teaching, for His word was with authority.  From Nazareth, Jesus went down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee and began to teach them. He does His teaching on the Sabbaths and His Word was with authority. Jesus is the Word of God from the beginning of creation and by Him, all things came to being. So when His word comes forth in your life, it comes with authority to correct every negativity. You must daily confess the Word of God for by it, you can pull down strongholds. You have authority if the Word abides in you. Prayer: Thank You Lord, for the power of Your Word. Blessed be Your Name for the settlement of Your Word in my life. Fill me Holy Spirit divine with the Word of Truth that I may speak in this authority even now and forevermore in the name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

Thank You Lord for the grace of keeping me from the sinful nature. Breath Your nature in me the more and may I look more like Christ daily. I will continually declare Your faithfulness and goodness in the land of the living.  I declare in the name of Jesus Christ as it is written, "For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory" that all my battles are the Lord's. Therefore, I subdue my adversaries and any form of limitation in any area of my life even now and forevermore in the name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ HIS WAY

Theme: His Way  Text: Luke 4:28-30 28 So all those in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath, 29 and rose up and thrust Him out of the city; and they led Him to the brow of the hill on which their city was built, that they might throw Him down over the cliff. 30 Then passing through the midst of them, He went His way. As we've established in the previous devotions, some people cannot just come to terms with the transformation our lives have gone through. The people in the days of Jesus also had such attitude towards Him. Instead of taking insight from what the Lord has said, they rather grew bitter towards Him. The best remedy to them was to throw Him down the cliff so they would not have to hear or see Him again. There are unfriendly friends in your life that are seeking means to do away with you. You need to take clue from the Lord to remain focus and never argue foolishly with them. As the Lord went on His way; understanding He was not sent to die th...

DEVOTION ~ WHEN GRACE SPEAKS!

Theme: When Grace Speaks!  Text: Luke 4:25-27 25 But I tell you truly, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, and there was a great famine throughout all the land; 26 but to none of them was Elijah sent except to Zarephath, in the region of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow. 27 And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, and none of them was cleansed except Naaman the Syrian.” In moments when you feel left out and unwanted, remember God hasn't given up on you yet. He still cares for you. In yesterday's devotion we saw how the Lord was asked by His own people to heal Himself. In response to that, He made reference to two great events of old; the widow of region of Sidon called Zarephath and Naaman the Syrian. Grace prevailed for these ones to receive divine intervention in their moments of distress. When the widow thought she would be preparing her last meal, grace says, you're now start...

DEVOTION ~ PHYSICIAN, HEAL YOURSELF!

Theme: Physician, Heal Yourself!  Text: Luke 4:23&24 23 He said to them, “You will surely say this proverb to Me, ‘Physician, heal yourself! Whatever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in Your country.’ ” 24 Then He said, “Assuredly, I say to you, no prophet is accepted in his own country.”  In yesterday's devotion, we saw how Jesus' own people underrated Him and made reference to who his father is. God knows our thoughts and what our heart conceive, so Jesus knew exactly what was running in the mind of the people in the synagogue. They want to see Him perform the miracles He did in other places: Physician, heal yourself!  Dear beloved in the Lord, there's no need proofing a point to anyone who does not accept you for who you are or celebrate in your successes. It's a total waste of time and resources. Those who have seen your humble beginning in life do not accept your lifting with ease. That's why the Lord plainly puts it; Assuredly, I say to you, n...

DEVOTION ~ IS THIS NOT JOSEPH'S SON?

Theme: Is this Not Joseph's Son?  Text: Luke 4:20-22 20 Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him. 21 And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.” 22 So all bore witness to Him, and marveled at the gracious words which proceeded out of His mouth. And they said, “Is this not Joseph’s son?” Don't be taken aback when people try to underrate you for doing something extraordinary. For our Saviour suffered same in the synagogue among His very own people. Having told them the scripture He read to them from the book of Isaiah has been fulfilled, they were astonished. In their amazement and in doubt, they want to compare their status to that of the Lord. So they were quick to ask if that's not Joseph's son? Dear beloved in the Lord, people who are unable to do the things we do, often try to find excuses for themselves by underrating us. They just wa...

DEVOTION ~ JESUS THE ANOINTED ONE

Theme: Jesus the Anointed One  Text: Luke 4:17b-19  And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written: 18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; 19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” In yesterday's devotion we saw how Jesus entered the synagogue and was handed a the book of Isaiah to read. Today's devotion will give us details of what He read. Jesus opened to the prophecy of the prophet Isaiah concerning Him. We noticed just after the baptism of Jesus that, He was filled with the Spirit of God and was led into the wilderness to fast for 40 days and night. Later the devil came to test Him but He overcame the deceitful cunning words of the devil. Jesus indeed is the Anointed One for the few years of His earthly ministry, we saw all th...

DEVOTION ~ JESUS' CUSTOM

Theme: Jesus' Custom  Text: Luke 4:16&17a 16 So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. 17 And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah.  Our practices become what we are accustomed to. Just like our Saviour, we ought to keep our steps towards the house of God irrespective of where we find ourselves. We must never forsake the gathering of the brethren. Jesus was known for entering the synagogue every Sabbath and performs the task of reading the scripture. We must also do well to perform a task in the house of the Lord; whether to sweep, dust the pews, read the scripture, be a liturgist or a preacher, amongst others. Performing a task in the house of the Lord stirs in us the joy to serve the Lord better. The next time you enter the house of the Lord, try to engage yourself in an activity before you leave there.  Prayer: Thank You God for the grace of Your glory th...

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

My heart rejoices in the Lord for His faithfulness never ceases towards us. It is renewed every morning making us feel at ease within. Glory be to You Lord God Almighty. Thank You Most Everlasting Father for sustaining us into another blessed week. Hallelujah!  It is written, "Know that Yahweh your God is God, the faithful God who keeps His gracious covenant loyalty for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commands". Spirit of the Living God grant me the grace to keep the Lord's command and to love Him. Let there be a release of the faithfulness of the Lord into the week to bring about a divine change in every sphere of our lives. Let the covenant Blood of Jesus sustain us in the week to be in good health, have abundance of life, be financially sound, advance in every area of our lives to the glory of God in the name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!  Deuteronomy 7:9

DEVOTION ~ IN THE POWER OF THE SPIRIT

Theme: In the Power of the Spirit  Text: Luke 4:14&15 14 Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and news of Him went out through all the surrounding region. 15 And He taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all. We cannot effectively carry out the assignment of the Great Commission without the Holy Spirit. We ought to be filled in the power of the Holy Spirit to serve the Lord and even to relate with others. It is by the power of the Holy Spirit that Jesus' ministry is a success. He does nothing by His Own will rather when He is filled with the Spirit, He is seen in action. Let us yearn for the presence and outpour of the Holy Spirit in all that we do that God will be glorified by our deeds. Prayer: Thank You Lord for giving us the Holy Spirit to teach, guide and counsel us in all we do. Help us to have an endless fellowship with the Holy Spirit and never to grieve Him in any way. In the name of Jesus Christ have we asked. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ OPPORTUNE TIME

Theme: Opportune Time Text: Luke 4:13 13 Now when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from Him until an opportune time. Dear beloved in the Lord, we learned how Jesus overcame the cunning darts of the devil with scripture. In today's text, the devil realized that he has been woefully defeated and so decided to let go until an opportune time. Let's take clue from here that, the devil actually does not stop fighting us but gives space until an opportune time to attack. This explains what Jesus mentioned in Matthew 12:43-45 that when a spirit leaves a man it goes to roam and when it finds no rest, it returns to the house from which he was cast out. If the house is tidy he then goes to bring others spirits to come torment the man. Do not lose guard in your Christian walk for the devil desires an opportune time to attack you. Prayer: Thank You Lord for making known to me the operations of the devil. I pray the Hand of God show forth for me at all times and in all thing...

DEVOTION ~ MISCHIEVOUS

Theme: Mischievous  Text: Luke 4:9-12 9 Then he brought Him to Jerusalem, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here. 10 For it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you,’ 11 and, ‘In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ ” 12 And Jesus answered and said to him, “It has been said, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’ ” In his deceitful nature, Satan tried to take pride in earthly possession and to sway people to worship him as he tried to with Jesus but as we looked at yesterday, he was rebuked. In today's devotion we will look at the mischievous nature of the devil. When he failed to get Jesus to worship him, he set Him on the pinnacle of the temple and dare to challenge His Sonship asking Him to throw Himself down. In his mischievousness he tried to make a biblical reference as Jesus has always responded to his cunning words with scripture. T...

DEVOTION ~ GET BEHIND ME SATAN!

Theme: Get Behind Me Satan!  Text: Luke 4:5-8 5 Then the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. 6 And the devil said to Him, “All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. 7 Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours.”   8  And Jesus answered and said to him,  “Get behind Me, Satan!   For it is written,   ‘You shall worship the  Lord  your God, and Him only you shall serve.’   ” When the devil wants to challenge our sonship, he is quick to make reference of who we claim we are but in moments of deceiving us, he will never attempt to draw our attention to who really we are. That's exactly what he did to Jesus. Unlike yesterday's text where the devil said, if you are the Son of God, he rather made reference to himself. He showed Jesus the world's beauty at  a glance. Knowing perfe...

DEVOTION ~ LIVE BY EVERY WORD OF GOD

Theme: Live by Every Word of God  Text: Luke 4:3&4 3 And the devil said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.” 4 But Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’ ” In yesterday's devotion we saw how the enemy attacks us when filled with the Holy Spirit. We continue today to look at what the devil did upon noticing Jesus was hungry. He came to challenge Jesus to make food for Himself by commanding the stones to become bread to remind Him of the manna that rained down in the wilderness for the children of Israel. It is not the bread he was concerned about, but to challenge the Sonship of Jesus Christ. Beware of unfriendly friends that come to suggest what you ought to do in a situation.  Jesus was qucik to respond to him by making reference to Deuteronomy 8:3 ~ So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that H...

DEVOTION ~ FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT

Theme: Filled with the Holy Spirit  Text: Luke 4:1&2 4 Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, 2 being tempted for forty days by the devil. And in those days He ate nothing, and afterward, when they had ended, He was hungry. The Holy Spirit is our Advocate, Comforter, Helper, Guide, Teacher and everything to us Christians. We are empty without the infill of the Holy Spirit. For He is our fuel as pilgrims of this earth. When the Holy Spirit fills us, we are not led to a place of comfort but a ground where we are tried and proved through various tests to affirm the power of His glory. This was what Jesus encountered after His baptism in the Jordan River. He was filled with the Holy Spirit and led to the wilderness to be tempted for forty days and nights by the devil. Our wilderness can be the woes of our homes, workplaces, ministry, health, finances and any other aspect of our lives. We are required to...

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

We give praise to Your Name O Lord, we proclaim Your name; and make known among the nations what You have done. We will sing to You, sing praise to You; and tell of all Your wonderful acts. We take glory in Your Holy Name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. It is written, "The Lord has called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah; and He has filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom and understanding, in knowledge and all manner of workmanship". Father in the name of Jesus Christ, we ask our lives, homes (families), ministry (Christian brethren), colleagues, neighbors, and all those who associate with us be filled with the Spirit of God in wisdom, understanding, knowledge and all manner of workmanship to carry out duties responsibly. May we be equipped for every good work to the glory of Your Holy Name. AMEN! Exodus 35:30b&31

DEVOTION ~ GREETINGS!

Theme: Greetings!  Text: Philippians 4:21-23 21 Greet every saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren who are with me greet you. 22 All the saints greet you, but especially those who are of Caesar’s household. 23 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen! Exchanging pleasantries is one of the key attribute of the Apostle Paul in all his epistles to the various churches and individuals. We ought to also learn to extend regards to others. How often do you greet your neighbors? Do not be like those who have positioned themselves to respond to greetings from others but will never be first to greet. Irrespective of your age and those you meet, learn to greet and ask of their well-being. Greetings pave way to communicate with others. Unfortunately many have missed the opportunity of being helped simply because they failed to greet. Do not bypass someone without saying; hi, hello, good morning, good day, good evening, etc. Prayer: Thank You Father for enlightening me on the essen...

DEVOTION ~ GOD'S RICH SUPPLY

Theme: God's Rich Supply  Text: Philippians 4:19&20 19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. 20 Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen. All things in nature is the Lord's. He created them and is the owner of all things. He gives it to anyone He wants to; For it is written of the Lord, "I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion" . If there's the need for provision, then the supplier is God; He works through men to make His supply reach its rightful destination. Dear beloved in the Lord, all things are possible in Christ Jesus. Look up to the glory of Christ's riches and God will divinely supply all your needs. Faith is what it takes to behold the riches in the glory of Christ. Trust the Lord, shake off the fears and doubts and you will be a wonder to many to the glory of God.  Prayer: Thank You Lord, for constantly making divin...

DEVOTION ~ SEEK THE FRUIT

Theme: Seek the Fruit  Text: Philippians 4:17&18 17 Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account. 18 Indeed I have all and abound. I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you, a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God. In yesterday's devotion we saw how the Apostle Paul learned how to receive and give from the Philippians. We are continuing today to see why he is much passionate about the gifts from the Philippians. He was not after the gift but the fruit that abounds to their account. We are known by the fruit we bear; if we bear bad fruit then we have automatically disqualified ourselves as children of God, however if we bear good fruit we will be identified with the Lord. Dear beloved in the Lord, do not just pray for God to send you helpers, pray also that God makes you a helper to someone. The Lord is pleased with a cheerful giver, his gift comes with a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable ...

DEVOTION ~ YOU'VE DONE WELL

Theme: You've Done Well Text: Philippians 4:14-16 14  Nevertheless you have done well that you shared in my distress.  15  Now you Philippians know also that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church shared with me concerning giving and receiving but you only.  16  For even in Thessalonica you sent  aid  once and again for my necessities. Appreciation needs to follow up when we receive gifts from our family and loved ones. This expression makes the giver willing to do more. The Apostle Paul expressed his gratitude to the Philippians for always making provision for him even if he was outside of their region. He was not just grateful for their gifts but he has also learnt to give others. We ought not to always be at the receiving end, we must also learn to give to meet the needs of others. Then both God and man can tell us, "You've done well". Prayer: Gracious God who provides for all according to Your great rich...

DEVOTION ~ POSSIBLE THROUGH CHRIST

Theme: Possible Through Christ  Text: Philippians 4:12&13  12 I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Life is beautiful as a rose but surrounded by thorns. You can't have the rose and not get pricked by the thorns. The admonition of the Apostle Paul is, we ought to embrace both the bad and the good tidings of our lives' journey. Learning to be content in whatever state we find ourselves in help us to shun evil. If we rely on Christ in all that we do, He will be our strength and cause everything to fall right in our lives. Just as the Apostle Paul, we will also confidently say, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Prayer: Father lead me on the right way least I stray. Increase my faith in the Lord that my daily walk with You shall be fruitful in the name of Jesus Christ have I...
