DEVOTION ~ WHO IS AT THE DOOR?

Theme: Who is at the Door?  Text: Revelation 3:19&20 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. 20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come into him and dine with him, and he with Me.  To have access to someone's house you need to knock and be granted permission if not you could be addressed as a thief if you enter uninvited. There's a special door to our lives the door to our hearts. Christ daily stands at the door to our hearts knocking and hoping to be granted access inside. There's an assurance that if we hear His voice and open the door, He will come in and dine with us. Are you ready to allow Jesus to dine with you? He always comes to the door of our hearts to prompt us to repent. All this while, we've been asking who is at the door to our hearts. Today, Jesus is saying He is the One. Because He loves us, He rebukes and chastens us to realign our ways to His and walk a b...

DEVOTION ~ ARE YOU RICH?

Theme: Are You Rich?  Text: Revelation 3:17&18 17 Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked— 18 I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. Material riches are not enough for living. We need to possess spiritual riches as well. The wealth we accumulate here on earth could either be stolen or obsolete. True riches are in the Lord and they never see decay. When we hunger for the Word of God and long to be satisfied by His Living Water, we shall be filled. Some have been blinded by their own carnality to think because they read the Bible daily, speak in tongues, or partake in service work, they are spiritually rich but no! They are not. The absence of self and the introduction of Jesus take...

DEVOTION ~ ARE YOU LUKEWARM?

Theme: Are You Lukewarm?  Text: Revelation 3:15&16 15 “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.  The church in Laodicea was lukewarm. It was neither cold nor hot. There are still some Christians in our dispensation who are neither cold nor hot. Lukewarmness is a picture of indifference and compromise. Many believers today have fallen to lukewarmness. On one part, we want to please God while on the other, we want to look good before men so we are not judged as churchy. With the latter, we tend to comprise just to please our audience forgetting we are not accountable to them but rather to God. We do not want to share the Gospel on our social handles lest we are given nicknames. Christ is cautioning us to stop playing the middle (neither cold nor hot). Take a stance today to either be cold towards the Gospel or be on fire for it. ...

DEVOTION ~ AN EPISTLE TO LAODICEA

Theme: An Epistle to Laodicea Text: Revelation 3:14 14  And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, 'These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God' The text for today is the Lord's epistle to the final church and gives an introduction of who He is to the church in Laodicea. The Lord reveals Himself in three unique ways: Amen; Faithful and True Witness; and Beginning of the creation of God. We shall look at the uniqueness of the Lord in our devotion. First, Christ is Amen! Amen means so be it or let it come to pass. It is recorded in  2 Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in Him (Jesus) are “Yes,” and in Him “Amen.” This implies all things God promises in Him are as they ought to be or have come to pass as expected.  Secondly, He is a Faithful and True Witness. The Lord never fails or disappoints. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. The promises of God have been fulfilled and revealed in Christ...

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

Suffering for God produces much more profit than for one's selfish gain. The prophet Jeremiah suffered a lot due to speaking the truth. He delivered the message of God as it ought to be without polishing it to suit the desires of his listeners. The king and his officials were displeased with his behaviour and treated him harshly. However, when the Babylonians invade the land, Jeremiah is given preferential treatment as recorded in Jeremiah 40:4 "But I am going to take off your chains and let you go. If you want to come with me to Babylon, you are welcome. I will see that you are well cared for. But if you don’t want to come, you may stay here. The whole land is before you—go wherever you like". Dear beloved in the Lord, this opportunity can be yours if you diligently follow Christ and abide by His message of truth.  Declare, "In the Name of Jesus Christ, I receive the spirit of a renewed mind to please God in my words and deeds. I decree just as Jeremiah was not cha...

CHARACTER STUDY ~ URIAH

The character of study for today is Uriah. The name Uriah is of Hebrew origin meaning God is Light. Uriah was the son of Shemaiah from Kiriath-jearim. He was a prophet of the Living God.  Some Characteristics of Uriah:  √ Uriah was a prophet during the time of the prophet Jeremiah. To be a true prophet at that time was difficult as genuine prophets have their lives at stake anytime they share the message of God.  √ Uriah's prophecy was in line with what God revealed to Jeremiah. If we avail to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, we shall receive the message of God clearly.  √ Uriah was security conscious. After delivering the message of God, he heard King Jehoiakim wanted to kill him so he fled the city to Egypt. We must learn to protect ourselves when we are faced with danger.  √ Although Uriah did his best to hide, yet Jehoiakim sent Elnathan the son of Acbor and some officials to hunt for him in Egypt.  √ Uriah was taken as a prisoner and brought back to ...

A PILLAR

Theme: A Pillar Text: Revelation 3:11-13 11 Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown. 12 He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name. 13 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” Ever played the game of musical chairs? The important thing about this game is ensuring you are not left without a chair to sit on when the music stops. If not, you will be disqualified from the context. This continues until a winner emerges. In today's text, Christ admonished the church in Philadelphia to hold fast so that no one takes its crown. The church is given a promise of reward if it overcomes. The reward is to be made a pillar in the temple of God. Pillars were pictures of strength, stability, and di...

DEVOTION ~ KEPT FROM TRIAL

Theme: Kept from Trial  Text: Revelation 3:10 10 Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.  Obedience to God's command is required to strengthen us to persevere through difficult times. The difficulties of our dispensation cannot be compared to the hour of trial to come upon the world at the end of the age. This trial is the great tribulation to proceed with the coming of the Messiah. The Lord will rapture His own to ensure they do not experience the great tribulation. Dear beloved in the Lord, we can only be kept from trial if we align with Christ and persevere this time. We must also understand that those of the world are those who have not accepted and walk in the will of Christ. Have you surrendered to Christ? If you haven't, take this opportunity to do so.  Let us Pray: Almighty God, strengthen me to persevere and may Your glorious deliveranc...

DEVOTION ~ YOU ARE LOVED

Theme: You Are Loved Text: Revelation 3:9 9 Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie—indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you. Our world is increasingly becoming a social media-frick world rather than a genuine society of brotherliness. Even within the church hypocrisy is in ascendancy. This was the issue in the church of Philadelphia. There exist people who claim to be Jews (partakers of the promise of God) yet are agents of darkness. Do not be deceived these individuals have paraded most churches to the extent of taking leadership positions to suppress the spiritual growth of the church. There is a definite assurance that God shall humble them and uplift His true and faithful servants. Are you a faithful servant or a false servant in the synagogue of Satan? If you are, be comforted because you are loved and Christ will subdue all agents of darkness underfoot. You will be worship...

DEVOTION ~ AN OPEN DOOR

Theme: An Open Door  Text: Revelation 3:8 8  I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name. In yesterday's devotion, we learned that Christ holds the key of David to open and none can shut or close and none can open. In today's text, Christ assured the church in Philadelphia that He has set an opened door before it that no one can shut. The important thing to note is that the works of the church in Philadelphia earned it the assurance of Jesus. The church by strength is weak but has not given room for intimidation. The church stood its ground to keep the Word of God and not deny His Name even when persecuted. Dear beloved in the Lord, you do not need the strength of Sampson to serve God in this perilous dispensation but rather we need to embrace the love of God. In love, we can keep His Word and not deny Him when threatened.  Let us Pray: Almighty God, may ...

DEVOTION ~ AN EPISTLE TO PHILADELPHIA

Theme: An Epistle to Philadelphia Text: Revelation 3:7 7 “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, ‘These things says He who is holy, He who is true, “He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens” The text for today is the Lord's sixth epistle directed to the church in Philadelphia. As accustomed to the Lord, He vividly addressed who He is to the church. In this account, Christ introduced Himself as holy and true, possessing the key of David. The nature of God is holiness and truthfulness. Therefore, we who serve Him ought to be holy, and true in all we do. A double life or an ungenuine life should never be mentioned among us. We ought to be explicitly holy and true in all things. Christ goes ahead to express that He holds the key of David to lock and unlock. He can open divine doors for us and any door that will lead to our destruction, He closes so that we are saved. Never be discouraged when a set door isn't opening in ...

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

The greatest moments of life is being relieved off pain, sorrow, or any unpleasant predicament. The woman with infirmity was bent over and could not raise herself up for close to a score. The moment of her liberation cane when Jesus came to the synagogue the very time she also showed up. This is recorded in Luke 13:10-13 "Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.” And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God". Dear beloved in the Lord, no one encounters Christ and remains the same.  Declare, "In the Name of Jesus I and my household are loosed from every bondage and captivity. Whatever has become a stumbling block in our lives is removed by the power of the Holy Spirit. We shall...

CHARACTER STUDY ~ TYCHICUS

Our character for study today shall be Tychicus. The name Tychicus means  casualty, fortuitous, fortunate, fateful, fate, or chance. He was a from Asia and a faithful companion of the apostle Paul in his missionary journeys.  Some Characteristics of Tychicus: √ Tychicus followed the apostle Paul on most of his missionary journeys. He was often mentioned in his letters. Assisting others to advance the Gospel is a sure way to learn.  √ Tychicus was sent to the church in Ephesus and Colossae to brief them on the welfare of the apostle Paul. As we work with others, we must learn to promote them than our selfish gains. May Tychicus' selfless acts teach us to do good.  √ Tychicus was submissive. If he were arrogant, he would not have been able to carry out errands for the apostle Paul.  √ There's no record of his death in the Bible although other Christian literatures might contain it.  Supporting Scriptures: Acts 20:4; Ephesians 6:21&22; Colossians 4:7&8...

DEVOTION ~ THE BOOK OF LIFE

Theme: The Book of Life Text: Revelation 3:5&6 5 He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. 6 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”  It takes a person who overcomes the seductive power of sin to stand worthy before God. This can only be made possible in Christ Jesus when we accept Him as our Lord and Saviour and walk in His will. As the Lord assured the church in Sardis, likewise shall it be our portion if we overcome sin then we shall be cloth in white garments and have our names written in the Book of Life. What is the Book of Life? The Book of Life is a Book that contains the names of those who could not die the second death or those sealed with the mark of Christ. Dear beloved in the Lord there are diverse books for different purposes in heaven. Some books will serve as books of remembrance of our deeds whe...

DEVOTION ~ ARE YOU WORTHY?

Theme: Are You Worthy?  Text: Revelation 3:4 4 You have a few names even in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with Me in white, for they are worthy.  Ever been invited for a program and during dining you stained your garment? I guess it was such an uncomfortable and unpleasant time having to continue with your stained garment until the program was over. Just like our party dress, God has put on us spiritual garments which we ought to preserve until the second coming of Christ. In the church in Sardis, some faithful servants have not defiled their garments and the Lord found them worthy to walk with Him in white. Can this be said of us too? We need a thorough introspection of our lives to determine if we are worthy to walk with the Lord in white. It is not too late to ask God to help you and deliver us from missing out on this glorious opportunity to walk with Him in white on the Day of the Lord.  Let us Pray: Almighty God, I know I have defi...

DEVOTION ~ REMEMBER

Theme: Remember Text: Revelation 3:3 3 Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you. In yesterday's devotion, we learned that the church in Sardis ought to strengthen what remains as it seems alive but dead. In the text for today the Lord admonitions it to remember how it has received and heard the Word of knowledge. The church is also encouraged to hold fast to the truth and repent from ungodliness. Dear beloved in the Lord, remember how you used to take delight in reading, studying, listening, and sharing the Good News. How well are you faring in that regard? If you can only boast about what you did in the past, then wake up and shake yourself off every limitation and seek the Holy Spirit to empower you once again to do greater exploits for the Kingdom. Aside from the Kingdom, as God for direction to lead your home and all that is en...

DEVOTION ~ STRENGTHEN WHAT REMAINS

Theme: Strengthen What Remains Text: Revelation 3:1c&2 “I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead. 2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God. In yesterday's devotion, we learned that an Epistle was sent to the church in Sardis addressed by Jesus who holds the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars. The text for today cautions the church to strengthen what remains. The church in Sardis just like most of us has been acknowledged to be spiritually alive but is dead. This is because we have held on for far too long our past glories and have not equipped ourselves for any good work in the Lord's Vineyard. Dear beloved in the Lord let us be watchful, for our works have not been found perfect before God and what remains is equally battling for survival. When hot coal is not kindled, it becomes cold or put off, so we become if we fail to set flame the gift of...

DEVOTION ~ AN EPISTLE TO SARDIS

Theme: An Epistle to Sardis  Text: Revelation 3:1a&b 3 “And to the angel of the church in Sardis write, 'These things says He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars' In our devotion today, we will look at the fifth Epistle of Christ directed to the church in Sardis. We've learned that Jesus always gives an introductory message of who He is. In this Epistle, He introduced Himself as the One in possession of the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars. The number seven is believed to imply completeness in the spiritual perspective. Jesus uses this number to  reiterate  He is the entirety of the Spirit of God and the church. In Revelation 1:20 the seven stars represented the angels of the seven churches. This predisposes that every church has been assigned with an angel that is subject to Jesus Christ. The Epistle to the church in Sardis applies to our dispensation and we ought to welcome the message and act promptly on its directives.  Let us Pray: ...

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

There is nothing like an outstanding human being because we all have weaknesses. There are some level of flaws with each of us and it takes only the power of Christ to graciously sail through life and overcome these weaknesses. Most often, people tend to judge our weaknesses to demoralize us. However, Jesus understands our situation perfectly as He has also been through it but never succumbed to sin. Hebrews 4:15&16 states, "For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need".    Declare, "In the Name of Jesus Christ, my garment of flaws is removed and I am dressed in the power of the Holy Spirit. I decree the mercy and grace of God locate every sphere of my life in times of need therefore I shall not be handicapped. I triumph in all that I do because I have laid it befo...

CHARACTER STUDY ~ PASHHUR

The character for study today is Pashhur the son of Immer the priest. The name Pashhur means plenty; prosperity roundabout; surrounded by nobility; liberty; freedom; and liberation. He was mentioned only in the accounts of the prophet Jeremiah with unpleasant attributes.  Some Characteristics of Pashhur: √ Pashhur was the son of a priest but that did not prevent him from opposing the will of God. Being born into a Christian home does not qualify or guarantee you shall turn out to be a good Christian. Learn to build fellowship with God through His Word and seek His will in everything.  √ Pashhur abused his office as a governor to have Jeremiah whipped and arrested for prophesying the will of God to the nation. Do not be power drunk to forget it is God who placed you there and He can relieve you of it when He pleases. Use your status in society to advance the truth and let God's will always reign.  √ Pashhur's name was changed to "Magor-missabib which means terror on every ...

DEVOTION ~ POWER OVER THE NATIONS

Theme: Power Over the Nations Text: Revelation 2:26-29 26 And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations— 27 ‘He shall rule them with a rod of iron; They shall be dashed to pieces like the potter’s vessels’— as I also have received from My Father; 28 and I will give him the morning star. 29 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”  In yesterday's devotion, we learned that those who have not fallen to the antics of Jezebel the prophetess of doom to commit adultery and idolatry should hold fast to what they have. The text for today is the reward of standing fast in Christ till the end. Do not succumb to the evil around you or let it discourage you from keeping pure. Your focus should be the reward of being given power over the nations to rule with Christ. Aside from ruling with Christ, He has also offered the faithful a reward greater than the kingdom: the reward of Himself, because He is the Mornin...

DEVOTION ~ HOLD FAST TO WHAT YOU HAVE

Theme: Hold Fast to What You Have  Text: Revelation 2:24&25 24 "Now to you I say, and to the rest in Thyatira, as many as do not have this doctrine, who have not known the depths of Satan, as they say, I will put on you no other burden. 25 But hold fast what you have till I come." In yesterday's devotion, we learned that Jezebel the prophetess of doom has misled the servants of God in the church in Thyatira. The text for today clarifies that not all of the servants of God have embraced this evil practice of adultery and idolatry. The message of God comes to such undefiled individuals to hold fast to what they have till the second coming of Christ. Dear beloved in Christ, although moral decadence exists in our society, we must ensure we don't engage in them. We are not accountable to human beings but to God and He knows even the secret things we do. Never try testing the depths of Satan for it is a slippery slope that will sweep you to destruction. God will also ...

DEVOTION ~ GUARD YOUR HEART AND MIND

Theme: Guard Your Heart and Mind Text: Revelation 2:20-23 20 Nevertheless I have a few things against you because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. 21 And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent. 22 Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds. 23 I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works.    Good and evil come from our hearts and minds therefore, we ought to guard them with the truth of God's work. If we are not mindful of what we permit into our hearts and minds, we shall be ruined. The church in Thyatira, permitted Jezebel, the prophetess of doom to teach and seduce the servants of God to comm...

DEVOTION ~ IMPROVING YOUR WORKS

Theme: Improving Your Works Text: Revelation 2:19 19  I know your works, love, service, faith, and your patience; and as for your works, the last are more than the first. In yesterday's devotion, we learned that the church in Thyatira received an epistle from the Lord through its angel. The text for today is focused on their deeds in the Lord and towards others. The key deeds include work, love, service, faith, and patience. Its good works are evident to God either towards the vineyard of God or its fellow brethren. So long as it has the attitude of good works, love springs out towards God and the brethren. Love is hard work as seen in 1 Corinthians 13 so in love the virtue of service is exhibited knowing that service to man is service to God. This notion equips the church in Thyatira to build its faith in God. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. In keeping its faith the church waits on the Lord patiently in all things. It is no wonder the ...

DEVOTION ~ AN EPISTLE TO THYATIRA

Theme: An Epistle to Thyatira Text: Revelation 2:18 18 “And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write, ‘These things says the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet like fine brass We have learned about the Lord's Epistle in three churches in previous devotions: Ephesus, Smyrna, and Pergamos. The text for today considers the fourth church Thyatira. The Lord Jesus addresses Himself as the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and feet like fine brass. It is an absolute truth that Jesus is the Son of God as evident in the account of His baptism in the river Jordan where a dove proclaimed who He was after being baptised. At the mount of transfiguration, the disciples with Him also experienced His true identity through the voice that spoke in the cloud.  Jesus further illustrated Himself as having eyes like a flame of fire. Jesus chose this description of Himself from the presentation in Revelation 1:14 to emphasize the idea that His eyes looked with p...

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

There are moments in life where those we trust to protect us fail woefully and our adversaries try hard to shake our foundation. Dear beloved in the Lord, God can stand with us through the thick and thin of life. It is written in Isaiah 54:10 "For the mountains may move and the hills disappear, but even then my faithful love for you will remain. My covenant of blessing will never be broken,” says the Lord, who has mercy on you". Declare, " In the Name of Jesus Christ, no matter the circumstances that surround me, God's faithful love shall never depart from me. God will perfect His glorious wonder in me. I shall enjoy His covenant blessing and peace in my health, marriage, family, career, finances, education, businesses, projects, and all spheres of my life this day and forever in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!"

CHARACTER STUDY ~ EPAPHRAS

The character for study today is Epaphras. The name Epaphras means lovely or covered with foam. He was mentioned in Paul's epistle to the Colossians and Philemon.  Some Characteristics of Epaphras: √ Epaphras was described by the apostle Paul as a beloved co-worker in Christ. We need to build good lasting relationships with people we work with either at home, workplace, church, or the community. In so doing, we can also be praised as Epaphras.  √ Epaphras was a faithful servant of Christ. To be a faithful servant implies he was humble and dedicated to duty. May we also be committed to the chores assigned to us.  √ Epaphras was helpful to both the apostle Paul and the Colossian church. He availed to assist in whatever way he can to uplift the name of the Colossian church. In our own small way, we can also avail to serve for the growth of our local church.  √ Epaphras was a good witness. He testified about the work of the Holy Spirit in the Colossian church. We must cu...

DEVOTION ~ WEALTHY HOME

Theme: Wealthy Home Text: Psalm 112:3 3 Wealth and riches will be in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. In yesterday's devotion, we learned that the righteous shall succeed and it will run through their generations. Today's text continues with how the home of the godly shall be. It is written that God shall  bestow blessings on the person who fears Him regarding their financial standing. God will also bless their economic life because of their life of obedience and honour to Him. The deeds of the righteous are lasting in the sight of God and the Lord shall establish them forever. Dear beloved in the Lord, if you desire a wealthy home, imitate Christ in all spheres of your life and you shall be established.  Let us Pray: Almighty God, You have possession of wealth and riches and You freely bless the righteous with it. Lord, help me to imitate Christ in all I do so that my home shall be established with wealth and riches. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. A...

DEVOTION ~ YOU WILL SUCCEED

Theme: You Will Succeed Text: Psalm 112:1&2 112 Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who delights greatly in His commandments. 2 His descendants will be mighty on earth; The generation of the upright will be blessed. Blessings and successes are a divine gift of God to anyone who honours Him. Honouring the Lord means fearing Him or obedience to His commandment by taking delight in observing it. When we do this, we attract the blessing to succeed and this runs through generations after us so long as they adhere to the Lord's instruction. Dear beloved in the Lord, do you want your generation to be mighty on the earth? Then, fear God so your  children will be successful everywhere and your  entire generation of godly people will be blessed. Praise the Name of the Lord for His promises are sure and firm. Let us Pray: Unto You O God do I offer praise and thanksgiving for Your promise to bless me and my generation if we take delight in Your commandments. Help...

DEVOTION ~ A NEW NAME

Theme: A New Name Text: Revelation 2:17 17 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone, a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it.”   Names have an effect on us, having a name of reproach and pain can be disturbing as a mere mention of it attracts scorn and disapproval. However, if we draw closer to God in truth and hearken to His voice, we shall have a divine new name written on a white stone which no one knows except ourselves. Note, it is not just given, you have to qualify by hearkening to what the Spirit says to the churches. Those who overcome all the enticement of sexual sins, idolatry, wickedness, and ungodliness shall also eat of the hidden manna. May the Holy Spirit guide us to stay on track with God as we await His second coming. Let us Pray: Almighty God, lead me in Your truth so that I can overcome the ...

DEVOTION ~ REPENT

Theme: Repent Text: Revelation 2:16 16 Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth. In yesterday's devotion, we learned that there are stumbling blocks in our way of living righteously. The text for today admonishes us to repent of the evil we do lest we face the wrath of God. The sword proceeding from the mouth of the Lord is a sharp double-edged sword that penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Unless we repent, we cannot escape the judgment of God. Let us Pray: Almighty God, I confess my sins (unforgiveness, malice, wickedness, lustfull desires, etc...) please, forgive me and cleanse me with the Blood of Jesus. May mercy speak on my behalf to escape the judgment to come. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
